In celebration of Miley's new album "Plastic Hearts" (a week late I know).
I made this remix / mashup of Blondie's song "Heart Of Glass" with Miley's live rendition at the iHeart Festival.
Tried my best to "replicate" the "Edge of Midnight Remix" concept from Miley and Stevie Nicks' collab.

Here's the finished project!

Heart Of Glass

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Much o' mistrust, love's gone behind

Once I had a love and it was divine
Soon found out I was losing my mind
It seemed like the real thing but I was so blind
Much o' mistrust, love's gone behind

In between, what I find is pleasing and I'm feeling fine
Love is so confusing, there's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you, it's just no good
You teasing like you do

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out had a heart of glass
Seemed like the real thing, only to find
Much o' mistrust, love's gone behind

Lost inside, adorable illusion and I cannot hide
I'm the one you're using, please don't push me aside
We could've made it cruising

Riding high on love's true bluish light

Once I had a love and it was a gas
Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass
Seemed like the real thing only to find
Much o' mistrust, love's gone behind

In between, what I find is pleasing and I'm feeling fine
Love is so confusing, there's no peace of mind
If I fear I'm losing you, it's just no good
You teasing like you do

  • After listening to Miley’s version I didn’t expect Blondie to be so calm and serene

Debbie's vocal delivery is smooth and sultry. Miley belts it out like a drunken pirate.

Will there ever be another woman as effortlessly and serenely gorgeous as Debbie? Flawless.

Debby Harry has everything: NATURAL beauty, presence , mystery and musical cred.

    no way...blondie still rocks..no effor..no yelling..just singing..

Nobody can match Debbie Harry’s style and voice. Even the backup by Blondie is brilliant and can never be matched 👍

I heard the original a thousand times, and although pleasant, not once did it evoke significant emotion. Miley’s version is pained, as the lyrics imply that it should be. Miley sang it the way that it should be sung.

Thanks for this, it shows the contrast between the two singers. One is silk, the other is broken glass.

There's nothing like the original - Blondie is amazing
  • @Greggspies
MS is rather rough around the edges where Blondie is class and sings beautifully

Wow I forgot how beautiful Blondie was! Obviously always an original!
  • You can never beat the original!! Blonde sound is hers unique 🎼🎶🎶🥰🇬🇧
  • I love both versions. I saw Blondie open for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers who opened for the Kinks in 1978 - she was incredible. I also love Miley's style. They are both talented, beautiful, and icons. Different styles (which is good).
  • pedazo de trabajo amigo.....👍🏻👍🏻si tuviera más pulgares, igual los daría. GENIAL!!

You can’t possibly compare the two. Blondie was one of my favorite bands growing up. The music was so much fun back then, and Debbie Harry was so cool and smooth !!

Miley's "howling dog in a cement mixer" attempt at a Blondie song makes me appreciate the sheer brilliance of Debbie Harry... Debbie could go from soft and gentle to raw and gritty in a single breath... and still be pitch perfect ! Sorry Miley... this is what happens when an average performer tries to emulate a truly gifted icon !!
