The only movie in the franchise that had the balls to progress the story. Every other movie kept going back through time trying to relive the 2nd films success.

The only Terminator film that showed us something different, the continuity of the story. A film with a serious and believable script, its own look and atmosphere, good performances, and technically excellent.

best part.. John Connor Steps out from the Chopper and fires shots on the ground.. with NIN Guitar Riff in the background..

I am convinced that early reviews sank this movie. The critics judged it negatively and a lot of people let those reviews influence their opinions. But if you sit down to watch this, with no influence anywhere, this is a good movie. It has a style, a look(seriously, any one shot in this movie looks 100x more impressive and beautiful than the whole of Terminator Genesys.), atmosphere, good performances, it takes itself seriously enough, etc. Would you believe, I think many people immediately dismissed it because McG decided to go with a monochrome look as opposed to the blue tint James Cameron used AND because they also made the decision to use real guns and real bullets instead of the laser guns that were in the originals. That's my opinion.

"I'm the only hope you have." "Oh gooooooood for you!"

It's just ironic today. 10 years later, and everyone is yelling for a Terminator movie set in the future war time....the future war..... Ever feel like we gave this movie hell it didn't deserve at the time.
  • This had the potential to be the start of another great Terminator trilogy. It was really enjoyable and I loved the focus on the war on machines after the nuclear strike. Too bad critics hated the film and it got ended like this.

It's been 10 years but this is still one of the best trailers for a film ever made.

One of the most badass trailers for movies ever. The movie didn't match the badass-ness, imo. I remember getting hyped about this movie when they first released the trailer.
  • "If we stay the course, we are dead, we are all dead!"- John Connor Talk about goosebumps. In my personal opinion, one of the best preview trailers ever, and a great Terminator film that is highly underrated. It's just good to know that I'm not the only fan who thinks this. haha I loved the story! p.s. It came out on my birthday May 21, 2009, when I turned 18. :)

I don't know why this movie was so hated. Sure it may not be as good as T-2, but it's still a really great movie! Awesome choice for actors, cool plot, amazing setting, and the visuals and CGI are jaw dropingly great!

Even salvation looks better then dark fate.
