Thanks mate I probably would’ve wasted my money getting soft clay when I now know I need the hard clay

Thanks for the review, they dont sell this in any shops nearby so I can't test the hardness before I buy online. Your review has helped me decide which one to buy. Thanks!

Thanks for the video, I'm thinking of trying my hand at sculpting, so I may just go Med but you're video was very helpful and thank you for the analogies

If you live somewhere with warm temperatures definitely buy the harder one....turns out where I am it's quite cold and working with the hard Monsterclay is like sculpting stone (if you don't heat it every 5 minutes) xD

I am curious as to how soft the hard monster clay gets once it is warmed up and how long it retains its heat. I would also like to see the medium version. I am looking to make some custom motorcycle parts out of clay that I can then make a fiberglass mold out of or possibly make a clay version I can fire in kiln for a vacuum forming mold. I am trying to figure out which would be the best clay and process to use. The hard version will definitely take awhile to form into a custom seat pan, but I fear the soft is just that too soft. Maybe I should be looking into water base clay I can harden by air/oven/kiln process, IDK?
  • So this never hardens? What can you do with it then? I bought the soft for some reason, now i might just use it as a mold funnel for my resin molds.

The Shelfie Edit: i didn't exactly know if this type was soft or Hard, not familiar with the type of clay Only Van Akens but I melt it with beeswax makes it firmer, LoL wanted to buy some pretty firm hard clay to sculpt hands and heads, to make Silicone molds outta them, will this be ok for that? Oh now that a saw the round head you made I assume yes cuz I'll be making bout same type of heads for stop motion.

Hi! Great video, i will be forwarding this to my friends! Just wondering... Would you use a plaster mold after sculting with medium monster clay or not at all? It seems to harden really quickly and it's almost harder than the plaster I intend to mold it with! Thanks a lot!

Hi, nice vids, how does the soft clay work if not heated for instance in cold climate?
  • Tell me, please, if I will sculpt from “hard”, how strong is the finished figure? I need to transport it for scanning. Is it really possible to do this? Maybe I need to cool it down a lot or put something cold next to it and take it in a refrigerator bag by taxi to the scanner? I am afraid that the details will be destroyed 👀

Is the Monster clay soft comparable to the consistency of super sculpey?
