The writers were so focused on diversity, inclusion and social justice causes that they forgot about character and story. Kim Cattrall made the right decision to not come back to this dumpster fire.

Cynthia nixon stopped playing miranda. She played Cynthia nixon.

The obvious choice for the story line would've been to make being in your 50's cool and explore what dating in your 50's is like.

Charlotte used to stand by her convictions until proven wrong and that’s one of the things I really liked about her. Now she just accepts something blatantly wrong because... because? So disappointing
  • This new version is bullshit. Kim Cattrall really dodged a bullet and clearly knew better putting Samantha to rest. Especially Miranda's storyline...UGH. They were just dying to make her a lesbian because Cynthia is one in real life, thinking a traditional heterosexual relationship made her less of a feminist. But feminism is about CHOICES. And Miranda chose Steve, she proposed to him, their wedding was HER idea of a wedding, he always gave her the best he could. And then, she had to be a lesbian in the name of inclusivity. The whole thing was stupid. I have even more respect for Kim Cattrall after this.

When Miranda left Steve after he cheated on her, it was a "huge mistake". But when she cheats on him and immediately asks for a divorce, everybody's like "okey dokey!"
  • Miranda's entire storyline (definitely not a story arc) was clearly dictated by Cynthia Nixon's contract demands. She wanted to mirror her own life's journey and in the process ruined a once great character's 23 year arc.

The reason why And Just Like That is boring isn't because of bad writing...it's the FEAR of good writing in a politically correct, overly sensitive, woke 2022. It's trying to make everyone happy instead of trying to be daring and fresh again.

I loved Sex in the City. Hated the movies, watched 10 minutes of this new show, and changed it. They killed Big??? No Samantha? Ditched Steve??? Everyone is gay now??? I am all done here.

Kim Cattrall saw this coming a mile off, at least she knew not to dirty her rep with this garbage
  • I think the character I'm most disappointed with is Charlotte. They made her a caricature of herself, a vapid society woman. Yes that was always a part of Charlotte but she was deeper and more complex which is why she struggled to never fully fit into that mold. That is why she ended up divorcing Trey because she couldn't fake it anymore ... watching her in just like that is painful.

The whole line with Che was soooo funny to me , and the fact that they all took it seriously) cuz when Samantha was in a relationship with a woman they all made fun of her and said she ran out of men !

I applaud you. I watched one episode and the cringe was so bad I couldn’t do any more.

When I saw that Big was killed off in the first episode and Carrie just stood there for seemingly forever before intervention, I was done.
  • I find it a little ageist too. I get with age you’re more likely to have health issues , some people have midlife crisis, some older people are out of touch etc. But they had to do all of this + let the characters negatively mention their age constantly. I find it disappointing.

I couldn't stand Che. They were shoving woke ness down our throats. It's all a bunch of narcissistic, entitled, whiners. This whole thing sucked.

The writing this series was so focused on putting out a specific message it forgot about making us care about characters. I laughed out loud at one point because I could believe how obvious it was. And Miranda leaving her marriage was an absolutely ridiculous decision.
  • @MegaBecks1981
Agree 100% - especially about how the men were treated in the series. The original show was about four women who loved men. The new show doesn’t seem to like men at all - either killing them off or neutering them.

Seeing Miranda so socially inept in navigating this woke new world broke my heart.
