It’s weird but in Scotland ‘Country Roads’ is like a Scottish anthem. Honestly you play it in any pub and every person is putting down their beers and singing. So it’s so appropriate for Merlin
-
When I was in the movie theatre and colin firth said: "When I was shot, can you guess what the last thing was that went through my mind?" A dude behind me said the following: "The bullet"
-
Fun Fact: Taron Egerton refused to put his hand down between the actresses thighs. The hand you see belongs to her irl husband! And you can bet Merin will be back at least his upper body with some sweet robolegs!
-
Also I love that they subtly doubled down on the princess joke with Harry's reward for saving the world being a backstage pass for Elton John. Very Elton John joke and I love it.
-
"gore has been toned down since secret service" two men are literally ground up in a meat grinder
-
Can we talk about how only Merlin could die with so much pride and honor
-
Mark Strong wouldn't say "hold my beer..." he'd say "hold my single-malt scotch laddie"
-
Over 5 years later and I’m pretty sure now we can officially say “Pedro Pascal is always a win”
-
Elton John popping up as 'friend' in the bowling alley has completed my life. Best thing I've ever seen
-
My only regret about this film is that we never got to see Mark Strong use that knife
-
"The gore has been toned down" Are we just forgetting STAGE THREE of the Dancing Disease where your eyes just spontaneously pop and bleed out the sockets?
-
"It was a blank!" "Yes, Harry, Yes!" "I WOULD NEVER HURT MR. PICKLE!"
-
I hope Kingsman becomes like James Bond. By that I mean 20 something movies and still going!
-
You missed the best one! When Harry asked Elton if he could have tickets for a show if he saved the world, Elton replied he would get a backstage pass. Now which "backstage" was Eggsy rewarded with in the first movie? ;)
-
The reason for the “Rainbow Head Explosions” in the first one was because Sam Jackson’s character hated the sight of blood. So it only makes sense for the evil genius to make something so brutal look colorful.
-
Fun fact: for the diner fight scene, parts of the counter were romoved and added back in with CGI later, so the camera crew could move around freely
-
Personally. There was one thing I wish he brought up, and, I think it’s a clever use of character awareness. Before Galahad has his memory returned, Eggsy pulls his gun on the dog, but, instead of Galahad INSTANTLY noticing, he didn’t see it until he looks back at Eggsy. His eyepatch covered the barrel of the gun perfectly to give just that extra second that, I feel if wasn’t there, would have felt rushed. It was such a smart use of how Galahad was unaware of his surroundings and I only wish it was documented here.

CW: “I’m just glad to see Harry back at full strength!” Harry: Immediately gets hit in the face with a pot and falls to the ground

My southern ass feels like the only one who didn’t find the “That’ll make you slap ya momma.” or “I feel like a tornado in a trailer park.” weird or confusing 💀 they made sense to me.

Those “nonsense sayings” actually make sense if you grew up in the south. It’s a skill you learn over the years that allows for you understand older people
