  • They may call those pinsetters 82-90s but they really are 82-70s with 82-90 upgrades (strike recognition {no table run needed}, gutter ball and 7-10 pickoff recognition {again, requiring no table run}, perhaps. Lane 10, the sweep is lifting way too early; it should not lift until the table has lifted ... lane 11 has the sweep lifting at the proper time. When I worked on 82-70s back in the 1980s, I never understood why TA1 rather than TA2 was used to tell the sweep when to lift. With the TA1 switch, the sweep lifts as soon as the table spots or respots pins, leaving the table unprotected (I have seen a ball hit a table when someone threw the ball too early and the sweep lifted while the table was still on the ground setting new pins); with the T2 switch, the sweep would lift after the table finishes its job, thereby protecting the table. It appears lane 10 is using the TA1 switch (or equivalent thereof) while lane 11 appears to be using the TA2 switch (or equivalent thereof) to signal the sweep to lift.
