I Didn't Eat for 5 Days: My Extreme Fasting Challenge

Published 2023-03-12
This week I took on the challenge of fasting for 5 days. That means absolutely no food, no calories, no squares bars to be consumed what so ever.

This was my hardest video to date. Let me know what you thought in the comment section!

Been wondering what happened to Blockchain boys. There's more health benefits to fasting than what you've mentioned. I saw something pretty big but can't remember what exactly it was.
  • I knew a hippie chick who kept doing the week fasting thing. Once a year. Until her kidneys shut down. You are causing damage to yourself in the long term.

I laughed so hard watching your friends trying to sabotage you. I think I would have enjoyed doing the same although, it could have been dangerous for me. I don't remember when I weighed 140 pounds. I think I was 14 or 15. I'm not much taller than you at about 5' 8" but, at the end of last August, I weighed just over 229. Then, my BMI was 34.86 (obese). Now, I weigh 215 pounds and my BMI has dropped to 32.72 (still obese). The healthy range for BMI is 18.5 to 24.9 for an adult male, regardless of age. It's calculated by weight in kg divided by height in meters squared. You mentioned once that you are 5' 5" tall so, at 140 pounds, your BMI was 23.26. That's within the healthy range according to the UK's NHS. At 130, your BMI is approximately 21.6. That's also very healthy. The problems with BMI are that it doesn't take into account bone density or muscle to fat ratio. Going purely on BMI, I'm obese but, I have fairly dense bones and am somewhat muscular. I'm built like a wrestler. I suppose that's why I took to judo so readily. I have a slight gut but, it isn't really that noticeable. If I could have jumped through my monitor (and time) I would have enjoyed taking part in that chicken near the beginning, the pizza and the custard filled pastry (YUMM!)! My mouth waters just thinking about those things. Those things that I really have to be very careful of because, I'm a diabetic. This is why I would never consider fasting for an entire week. It could have negative outcomes for me. That's why I want to lose the extra fat. I'm shooting for 190 pounds. With less fat, I would have less insulin resistance. Losing the weight is one thing, keeping it off is another. For you, this is where running could be a great boon or engaging in some workout program. I would love to have you in my judo club. I could train somebody at your height and weight to be a dynamo on the judo mats. Ooops! I had better stop typing. This went a bit long. If you're going to gain the weight back, gain it back in muscle. Good luck and have fun. Okay. I'm done.
  • Ohhh very interesting. Hunger is something I hate. Or at least I think I do. I have been conditioned to always immediately satisfy my hunger. Maybe I might try. One for the self discipline and two for the weigh loss. For your next meals, did you quite immediately regain the eating levels you had before or have you slowly eased yourself back in. Oh and the inevitable comment 'for freeeeeee!'
