There are various different kinds of relays you can use for your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or other microcontroller project.

- Through-hole PCB relay: You have to solder these to a PCB and build the control/power supply circuit yourself.

- 12V or 24V plug-in relays: These are easy to replace, but are big and you have to build a power supply and control circuit for them.

- Relay modules: No power supply or control circuit has to be built. They just plug straight into your Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
