The Lego Movie is phenomenal! Way better than it needed to be. And was a really successful meta story too! But how? Why? What was the scene that encapsulated everything that made the Lego Movie good? Well, there's really only one to choose from. Since this is the scene that definitively flipped the entire narrative of the movie on it's head - today we're talking about the IRL scene where Emmet is dropped off of the table, and meets his creator and the man upstairs. THIS is the Scene That CHANGED The Lego Movie...

If future Lego Movies are gonna have Universal Pictures IPs now, which characters do you think they're gonna use?
  • This movie is an absolute masterpiece, with amazing animation that skilfully avoids feeling like product placement, is infinitely quotable, and really should've been nominated for best animated feature. This scene in particular encapsulates just how much heart and soul went into the film.
  • The idea of separated dimension between the LEGO world and the real world in the perspective of a minifigure is creative. I can't get enough with Will Ferrel and the kid sprinkling the LEGO sets with water to unglue everyone together and it's just warms my heart.

Upon hearing about this movie, I thought that it would be the cheesiest thing ever. But despite it having plenty of corny moments, I'm unashamed to admit that it made me cry several times, it has so much heart! 😭

It's understandable for the father to be annoyed that the kid is messing up your set that you spent so much time to create and arrange, but everything could've been solved if he just bought a few sets for his son especially since his son is so creative and capable of actually making nice things

Dazz: Hopefully this doesnt curdle into a full on existential crisis for this man Meanwhile in The Lego Movie 2: Gets thrown under a washing machine, forced to watch his friends go on with their life as years go by without him while coming to the gut wrenching realization that his and everyone else's entire existence is just made up by some kid in his basement.
  • For me, one of the most important moments in this movie is when the father realizes that he's the villain of his son's story and it tears him up. I'm not a big Will Farrel fan, but his acting on that scene was so spot on, I still think it deserved a best-supporting actor nod. But then, I'm a sucker for good "father/son" scenes. One of my favorites is that scene between Pops and Speed in the Speed Racer movie.

I think it's also interesting as a symbol of childhood imagination with no concern for perfection in a craft vs adulthood obsession with perfection in a craft. As a kid, whether it was drawing, Legos, etc. I just had fun with it and I see the same thing with kids today. As an adult, I get discouraged if something isn't exactly perfect.
  • I watched the movie when I was pretty naive that studios could make bad movies and Im glad this movie set a established bar for me and many other kids at the time

It´s sad how the ninjago tv show is so much better than the movie. But not surprising bc the creators of the ninjago movie said that they only watched like 1 Season of the then 7 season show.
  • I think you should do one of these "changed" videos on the ending scene of The Lego Ninjago movie, I re-watched it recently and was actually really surprised at how heartfelt and well voice acted Lloyd talking to Garmadon about him "needing his dad" was, but idk
  • @PartyMan40
Ah yes... the movie that kicked off the Prattverse.

If Puss in Boots: The Last Wish gets one, I’m pretty certain it’s going to be Puss’s panic attack
  • @alphaareus
There's so many scenes in this movie that hit me hard, i couldn't possibly choose one that would perfectly encapsulate its excellence. But this? This is a great choice.
  • @Staralium
I find the lego movie very nostalgic now I watched it in cinemas in 2014 as a kid but now that I'm older I can really understand the true levels of masterpiece behind this film
  • The Lego Movie is a perfect ad because they show you how much fun lego can be by immersing you in a kid's game of legos. It's also a really sweet story and the last second redemption of Lord Business works because of the parallels between the lego world and the real world.

I’ve watched this movie COUNTLESS times and I’ve never seen the detail at 13:39 with the Micromanager being animated to The Man Upstairs’ voice God I love this movie
  • @NotNGJW
I think the Ninjago movie would be better if it was based around the show more
  • The Lego Movie was such a phenomenal movie and, if you ask me, the only other Lego movie that gets as close to as good as this one is the Lego Batman Movie (which was still extremely good itself). We need more movies like the Lego Movie…
  • @DragonSkyNija
There is one thing I have been wondering about when I first time saw the movie when everything was shown to be a kids fantasy. How could Emmet move in the real world by Himself when he was lieing on the fathers desk?
