I think the reason why everyone in the Afton family is soo cold to each other is because William turned them against each other. Narcissists always keep their victims alone they manipulate alone, so the only person they trust enough to be around is them. "Hey, Elizabeth, althought it pains me to say you must know the truth. Making an animatronic dor Elizabeth and telling her to "Stay away from it" is like making a chocolate birthday cake for your child and telling them to never eat it and leaving that kid alone with the cake. Maybe William planned Elizabeth's death? After all, he is a expert of manipulation, he should know about reverse physchology.
