ABOUT VA
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is comprised of three different administrations:
(1) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) - Provides health care at 1,298 facilities, including 171 hospitals and 1,113 outpatient clinics, serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year.
(2) Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) - Provides a variety of benefits and services for Service Members, Veterans, and their families including compensation, pension and fiduciary, insurance, education, loan guaranty, vocational rehabilitation and employment, and more.
(3) National Cemetery Administration (NCA) - Provides burial space for Veterans and their eligible family members, and maintains national cemeteries as national shrines, sacred to the honor and memory of those interred or memorialized there.

I'd like to thank the WW vets and the Vietnam Vets....they caught hell trying to get benefits that many later generation Vets enjoy.

I am the daughter of a vet. Took a loooooong while to find my dad. When i did find him, he was in a nursing facility drugged up so badly that he couldn’t even speak. It was a process to get guidance to be a legal advocate for him. Got him a doctor through the VA. It took 2 months to get him winged off of the wrong & unnecessary meds. I didn’t know diddly about the VA SYSTEM. I went to a family caregiver for veterans seminar. He was sitting at 20% VA benefits. I contacted the D.A.V in D.C. We moved my dad in with us until he felt he was ready to live on his own. It took 5 months to get him to 100%. I truly believe the majority of our precious veterans need help navigating the VA exclusively for each one of our veterans. ITS A FREAKING BEAST!

I am the surviving spouse of a WWII war veteran; he passed away almost two years ago and I never had received any pension from the VA . He was 100% disabled

Very informative but the VA is still painfully slow so you MAY get benefits but it may take over 2 1/2 years with no resolution. So be prepared for a LONG LONG LONG wait.
