Solar powered water electrolysis - will it work?

Let's check if solar energy from a small solar panel is capable of split water through the electrolysis process.

Materials:
- 7v solar panel
- glass or plastic cup
- 2 nails
- wires

How to:
- connect each nail to each solar panel wire
- put some water in a cup
- add some salt to increase the water conductivity
- let it run and observe the results (the electrodes should bubble, as the water split occurs by electrolysis)

Hmm no comments huh. I'm gonna try a 100 watt panel soon. Maybe if it can produce enough it could run a generator all day in the hot sun and run air conditioning to not jack up the electric bill.
