Teatime dimsum surprise - took the kids to Padang Brown Penang after a week of flu! #streetfood

Published 2024-07-12
After being sick for around a week, I finally felt well enough to make a new video! Join us for a spontaneous tea-time adventure as I take the kids out for some tasty snacks at the Padang Brown Hawker Center, located at the corner of Anson Road and Jalan Johor. While we arrived a bit too early at 3pm (they open at 4pm), our cravings led us to another nearby hawker center along the same road, known for its delicious noodles and dim sum.

In this video, we dive into a delightful array of dim sum treats, including siew mai, fishballs, char siu bao, and my personal favorite, loh mai kai. The kids and I were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the dishes, making it a satisfying tea-time experience.

With a total bill of just RM14, it was an incredibly affordable and enjoyable outing. Plus, I take a moment to share some exciting ideas and future content plans for the channel, ensuring that there's always something new to look forward to.

If you're a fan of dim sum or simply enjoy exploring local hawker centers, this video is for you. Don't forget to subscribe and hit the notification bell for more family adventures and delicious food discoveries.

Have you been to Padang Brown Hawker Center or have a favorite dim sum dish? Share your experiences and recommendations in the comments below!

Thank you for watching, and here's to more unexpected and delightful food adventures!

Hello, have been watching your videos and enjoying them! My husband’s family was from Penang and we have been back many times to unwind and eat! Looking forward to trying some of the makan places featured in your videos. Was delighted to see Uncle Thomas in one of your videos! He was our trusted friend who used to bring us around when we were there. We miss him. Best wishes from our family to yours!

Hope you and your family have a speedy recovery. Home cooking videso with the kids would be great to watch. Keep up the spontaneous videos. Do also show clips of your family's time in New Zealand if possible.

Good to see your vlogs. Welcome back. Always interesting to see what life is like on the other side of the « pond ». Be careful, if and when you branch out, you might dilute the content and you might loose viewership. Like I said, I’m interested in life and custom of other southeast Asian countries. I’m crazy about durians. I can only eat with my eyes 😢 An old Chinese saying, « Health is Wealth », so stay healthy for your kids. Take care and see you on the next video.
  • oh sorry bro u sick, take gd care u n ur family too, cant wait see you back very soon ...

May you and your family be well and happy always
  • Get well soon! I just left Penang yesterday. Found a durian stall called Durian Canteen at 2F Lorong Delima 6, Taman Island Glades which I believe is a very local area. Saw lots of locals buying durians there. They have their own organic farm at Balik Pulau. Prices are very reasonable Black Thorn at RM67/kg, Musang King RM52/kg, Ang Heh RM34/kg, Chey Phoay RM29/kg, Lin Feng Jiao RM28/kg etc..
  • Started following shortly over a month ago and really enjoyed watching your videos. Hope you & your family get well soon! Give the new video suggestion a shot, sounds interesting! Enjoy the durian season after you recover. When does the season end? Take care & Cheers from Toronto Canada!👍🇨🇦
  • Watching from Singapore 🇸🇬. 😊 Your kids are cute making funny faces & goo goo eyes behind your back. 😂

Yea.. the new idea is good. Instead of sharing just food vlogs, you can also share the how to and what to videos...just as what you mentioned just now. Maybe you can upload a few videos first and gauge your audience feedback.. I will be looking forward to it... get well soon to you and your family
  • This time round, the cough is terrible, I had it too then the whole family.....ugh! Hope your wife recovers soon. Stay safe and healthy, bro.
