When I first met my husband he loved drinking all the time....His addiction took over..I stayed and helped him...went to AA, and ask Jesus to helped him....We are married 44 years...He is sober 45 years....He took it a day at a time....I am so blessed to have the best husband..I told him...He was my diamond in the rough..

My husband and I have been married for 40 years, We played this song at our wedding in 1981! Slow dance all your life, it's so nice to just let it al go.
  • I can still hear my dad's voice singing this... man do I miss him
  • The way he hits the lyric “you’re as warm as a glass of Brandy” gives me goosebumps every time. ❤

I only heard this song once and fell in love with it. My husband didn't drink but when I first met him. It was drugs that he used to take and like you said. I stood by him taking it one day at a time. I was the one with the alcohol problem and the weird thing was that all it took was 1/2 pt daily. I met him in a detox program and even though they say not to start a relationship with anyone in a program. We did and I waited 10yrs to say "I do" and he was the happiest man in the world. Vegas there we went. Sadly to say that after 32 years together he passed 9 days before our wedding Anniversary. I know for afact that there's only 3% of good husband like the one I had. It's going to be 2yrs and I miss him every second of the minute. Good luck to all those who are going through any kind of addiction.

I hate country music, but this song will always hold a super special place in my heart. It’s one of my moms favorites, and it’s precious to her and it’s grown on me. I hope one day I can sing it to her and make her smile

Stapleton nails this song! Originally written and recorded by David Allen Coe, it was also previously covered by George Jones; but Chris gives it the "bluesy" feel it truly deserves.

I wondered why my wife loved this song and always wanted me to hear it. Now I know, she helped me through my alcoholism addiction and she said she thinks of me every time she hears this.😭😭😭

  • Some of my family and I used to go to karaoke, often to the same place. At one of the bars/restaurants an old man and his wife would be there and he would always sing this song. One of those times, I noticed that he was not there but during the session,an old lady came up to the stage and proceeded to sing this song. It was his wife and she dedicated that performance to her husband who had recently passed away. I still get emotional over that every time I hear “Tennessee Whiskey “ and it is still one of my very favorite songs.

Heard this for the first time at a family reunion. Seeing everyone start pouring their heart out with this song is something I'll never forget.
  • My ex sent this to me today and thanked me for saving him from his addiction. We've been through a lot..too much for me to get over.. but it sure gets me in my feelings

“But you rescued me from reaching for the bottom, and brought me back from being too far gone…” ❤️ True love can do that to a person

He played this song while I slept in his car (aka closing my eyes to see what he does) he ended up putting his jacket on me as a blanket. Then played this song and sang along to it, the feeling I felt in that moment was something I’ll forever remember ❤️
  • Tears roll down my cheeks whenever I hear this favorite song of my dear one I have loved so dearly. He just passed away 2 months ago and I cried a lot hearing this song bringing sweet treasured memories. We sweetly danced together with this song

This song was one of my dad’s favorites. This brings back memories of hanging out with him, grilling steaks or burgers during the summer before he passed. RIP dad, I pray that God allows whiskey in Heaven so I can enjoy one more drink with you

I've dedicated this to my kids. Because I've been down that path and my children and grandchildren are my strongest inspiration along with GOD.
