Star Citizen is an in-development multiplayer space trading and combat simulation game. The game is being developed and published by Cloud Imperium Games for Microsoft Windows. An extended retry of unrealized plans for Freelancer, Star Citizen is being led by director Chris Roberts. The game was announced on October 18, 2012 through a successful Kickstarter campaign which drew in over US$2 million.[3] Pre-production of the game began in 2010, with production starting in 2011.

Star Citizen has become highly criticized during its long production process, both for the fact that there is still no clear release date and for the challenges backers who have abandoned the project have faced in receiving a refund. The launch of the game was originally anticipated for 2014, but was repeatedly delayed. In 2013, Cloud Imperium Games began releasing parts of the game, known as "modules", to provide players with the opportunity to experience gameplay features prior to release. The latest of these modules, known as the "Persistent Universe", was made available for testing to pre-purchasers in 2015 and continues to receive updates. After more than a decade in development, no projected date for the commercial release of Star Citizen is currently given.

After the initial Kickstarter ended, Cloud Imperium Games continued to raise funds through the sale of ships and other in-game content, and is now noted for being the highest crowdfunded video game and one of the highest-funded crowdfunding projects overall, having raised over US$400 million as of November 2021. Such methods of generating crowdfunded revenue have however led to criticisms and legal issues surrounding the project. In addition to crowdfunding, marketing is now also funded through external investment, having received US$63.25 million as of March 2020.

Squadron 42, a single-player game set in the same universe, was initially announced in the Kickstarter as an included campaign in Star Citizen, but is now intended to be a standalone product.

"they were shooting at me first!" helmet cam shows Jayvee killing a guard completely unprovoked "I believe the footage speaks for itself, your Honor"

"Can we filter by most expensive?" - yes, select "Origin" in the list. On the 890J, you were also on the auxiliary bridge on the lower (engineering deck). Had you kept going past the movie lounge, you would have hit the basketball court which is setup on the front hangar which can carry ships, yes. The engineering elevator you came in on can hold rovers and ground vehicles and stuff. The room above the bar at the top of the central stairs is the actual bridge that looks like what you'd expect from a ship and can see forward through the window. It's too bad that your mercury star runner was blown up before you had a chance to really explore it. It has hidden smuggling compartments.
  • The ships are from the free fly event where people get ships temporarily for free and people can play temporarily for free
  • It's not that you get a crimestat when you leave grimHEX, it's that grimHEX is outside of policed range so there's no crimestat there (It's sort of an outlaw base), you just see your crimestat once you're far enough. There's satellites that can be turned off with hacking to disable it in space too. To see your crimestat there's a page with your crimes on the journal mobiglass tab I think
  • Imagine grinding the money to buy a bigass fancy ship and then NOPE reset and it's all gone. Damn, I'd be pissed
  • @AngelsLance
It's a shame you never discovered the VIP rooms or the Captain's quarters or even the real bridge of the 890J still a great video though.
  • @RandomRoger
When you were in the 890, you weren't in the real pilot seat. That was not the bridge. The bridge is forward and up front you almost were in it but you never did go up the stairs and go in the bridge

Someone actually did host a party in the 890j on the PTU using the new 100 player server cap, it had nearly everyone in the server on the ship. You can also put things like tanks on the hangar elevator and raise them above deck to use as a gun with another person :)
  • Really dope video. Felt like I was in on the adventure with you. Hope you keep up with this Star Citizen series!
  • @StephenBlane
The extra ships in your inventory were attributed to you for the free flight event, where anyone could play for free for a time and the devs give everyone a variety of ships to try out the game. It will be cleaned up soon, usually when the event ends or after a week or two. The crime stat doesn't show up in Grim Hex because it's off grid/out of range of a comm array. The symbol at the top right of your screen that looks like a satellite with wifi bars is called a "Comm array" It's one of many physical satellites in the verse that tracks crimes in its zone of influence, you can stay out of its range and any crimes you commit won't be tracked, you can also disable a comm array to freely commit crimes without being tracked. Prison gets buggy often, when it works it can be great! But it's great as a deterrent for crime, and not in the way it's supposed to be. You can escape from prison as well, which you could have done without your mobiglass, maybe next time! ;) When holding food or water/cans you can just hold left click to eat or drink for as long as you are holding down the button. This is useful to avoid using inner thought with items in your hand that may be hard to look at. Wipes happen very rarely but can be out of three categories: Money / Items and ships purchased in-game / Reputation. Sometimes they wipe one, some, or all of them. 3.17.2 wiped all but Reputation, but there is going to be another wipe for 3.18 that may come in 3 - 6 months depending on how stable it is. 3.18 brings in some very cool, game changing technology, and it's going to require a full wipe. So the 890J pilot seat you found is actually the "Battle Bridge" it's a sealed room protected from the exposed bridge. You normally fly from the bridge at the top of the ship, but when explosive decompression and life support comes online you will want to be in the battle bridge to keep the ship moving. Ships are one of the best elements of Star Citizen, you walked around a multi-floored ship, so large it could be an entire multiplayer map for a shooter, and you can fly it, do barrel rolls while players party or have a gunfight on board. There are few games like this. Love seeing your reactions, good and bad! The games' development is long but very consistent so hope to see you come back and do more! You should try playing with people because it's an entirely different experience and can be very, very funny.

I absolutely love your videos on Star Citizen. Actually you‘ve been the reason, why I bought the game for myself. And I gotta say, it has to be my favourite game by now
  • @leswause8937
Congrats on the 890J! It'll be perfect now that there's a higher player cap per server :P
  • @Cursos910
Honestly, whenever I see a Star Citizen video from you I jump straight onto that. I love your perspective on the game, its so full of wonder and excitement!
  • You know you can walk around in your ship whilst it's in flight? not seen you do that yet, there's something amazing about putting your ship into a spiral and then walking around inside
  • @stubert2931
That was the combat bridge of the 890 Jump, it is not fully operational so far. A screen that shows the outside or something like that is missing. The normal bridge is on the top deck.
  • The prison reminded me of the one in Guardians of the Galaxy as well! This game has become truly impressive, both visual and gameplay wise! Great video as always!
  • @Smarty7752
The no mobiglass bug can sometimes be fixed by changing your skin, hair, eyes, etc (gender if those don't work) with the character customizer on the main menu. You might have also noticed (at 7:38) your head is missing. This is the same bug
