Liar - Camp Camp [Harrison]

Published 2023-08-14
I had quite a bit of thought behind making this video, it's supposed to symbolize a lot for Harrison's character (or at least my version for him haha) and how he feels about himself. As you may or may not be able to tell, the video starts off with slightly sped-up audio, colorful layers, and bright overlays. This signifies essentially that Harrison accepts that he's a bit arrogant and overly prideful of his magic and abilities; he knows that he messed up by making his brother disappear, but he has more hope than he should have to bring him back.
As the video progresses, the audio slows down, and the effects dull out in vibrance; the overlays also become more overwhelming and glitchy. I tried to convey through this that Harrison is, at this point in time, losing hope of ever bringing his brother back or even fixing anything at this point. He's so tired of failing and being ridiculed by his peers and experiences extreme inferiority complex almost all the time at camp.
He knows he's deceiving himself, but he's too overwhelmed by having the need to fix everything to actually do something about the minor things. He's gotten so obsessed with his spells and magic to pay any notice to those who tell him to stop lying not only to himself, but to everyone around him. His own facade has become a weak illusion that he's too exhausted to see past.
