I’m only watching this so that one day I wouldn’t have been so ignorant to toss away good gems.

cough Diamonds are only expensiv, because most of all diamonds are mined by the Debeer mining corporation, which controlls the amount of diamonds that get into the free market cough

I have never understood why people think so much of white diamonds. I would much prefer a stone with color.

Many years ago I inherited a ring from my wealthy grandmother. She had her own jeweler who custom made things for her. The ring I got was flat teardrop shape with tiny roses cloissonéd on the perimeter, and two magnificent teardrop shaped black opals in the center, a larger one and small one under it. They flashed every color. I accidentally banged my hand against a doorway and cracked the smaller one, so took it to a jeweler here to see if he could replace it. He said it would be hard because they were rare, but he put it in his safe before he left for gem shows. I checked back a couple of times but he kept reporting that he still hadn't found a stone to match. The next time I came by there was a SHOP CLOSED sign and he was gone, along with my ring.

Don't buy diamonds because they are worthless. A friend of mine paid £5000 (roughly) for a diamond ring and when he divorced her he wanted to sell it. Jewellers told him we don't buy the stone because we can't re sell it or some crap like that and he got £50 for the ring which was silver or white gold. He went and got drunk with the 50 pounds. If diamonds are so precious why are they use on drill bits. Invest in gold.
