    In TKD we call this il sook daelyon. 1 step sparring. While modern TKD sport doesn’t practice this, I teach my students this for 35 years. I’ve had to defend myself 2 times in 45 years of training and I, without thinking, defended myself successfully with 1-step sparring techniques! I maintain that for self defense this drill is of the most importance.

    宮城長順先生から伝わる一本組手、拝見しました。 タイトル通りに「シンプルで危険」とありましたが、まさにその通りでした。 糸東流でも昇級審査の時に、約束組手ありました。基本や形からとったものから 約束組手の中で技として出していました。所作とかは違いますが、何個かの技は 私が実際に使っていた技がありましたので、驚きました。 元々宮城長順先生と糸東流開祖の摩文仁賢和先生は知り合いで、摩文仁先生が那覇手を 習うにあたって宮城先生が紹介したことが始まりであり、その後沖縄唐手研究倶楽部を発足にあたって 両先生は主任教授なりました。交流することにあたってお互いの技がやりとりがあったと思います。 西監督が八木先生に「見せても大丈夫なんですか？」と言ってましたが、八木先生は全然大丈夫と 言っていましたので是非使わせていただきます。 次回は八木明徳先生の二本組手が気になりますので、楽しみです！！
