I feel like I'm missing something, since I never really watch live streams, but is there something negative about the animals addition that I'm missing, or is it just a matter of "boring to me"? I've never heard Prez mention them in a genuinely positive light.

Yes it's possible. Vanilla, the Strength and Fitness will make you want to end your life, same with reloading and really all combat skills. Modded skill books makes it less painful, but at least combat skills give loot and dopamine, the other three are Hell and would be unwatchable if this isn't just a throwaway idea. Brewing is also cancer and the guy(s?) who made it did a much better job with the followup winemaking where there's an actual gameplay loop (Forage berries -> loot yeast, which is a common vanilla item -> find one (1) winemaking kit for the bottle which can be reused again and again) keeping the footprint of custom items small. Compare that to brewing which is entirely custom items and nothing about it can really be found individually outside of brewing kits (unless the server owner sets hops to be forageable and even then you don't get the other parts from foraging) you're left on picked clean servers with basically two options: make kegs out of scarce metalworking materials or make cans out of aluminum Which you may be forced to do since brewing kits have all beers possible in them, including the ones requiring level 1 and 2 to make. Add onto that that you need a recipe mag to dispense a beer from a keg to a bottle or can and the whole mod is an awful joke, which is a shame, because again winemaking is much better. Much luck to you, because I've done the maxing thing almost habitually as a way of finding any fun in this game and by now I know the quirks of most skills and it's surprising that even with the quirks, nothing is as bad as vanilla strength, fitness, and reloading.

My man, the fact that you keep getting sick, while your kid and wife doesn't, despite them being out in the world, means that your immunesystem is F'ed from not being around people more. You're probably getting infect BY your family. They're more or less immune from exposure, but you're not. You might wanna consider getting out amongst other people more, so your immunesystem can get some practice. Its just like any other thing in your body, if you don't use it, it'll decay. A LOT of people had the same problems after the Covid lockdowns. Once they were able to socialize again, they got sick all the time, and got more sick than they used to, simply because their immunesystems were borked from disuse.
