I wanted to see what would happen when a beginner uses the Mantis Blackbeard rifle training laser for 15 minutes a day for a week. I did see improvement in a short time, which is common for people who are new to rifle drills.

The Mantis Blackbeard replaces your bolt carrier, charging handle, and magazine which enables your rifle to have an auto resetting trigger when dry firing.

When I was teaching my daughter to shoot her 22, we came home from her first range day and I zip tied my Mantis X10 to the end of her barrel, and put a snap cap in the chamber. She spent ten minutes pulling the trigger, and intuitively started focusing on being smoother chasing that higher score with very little instruction from me just lots of encouragement. Next weekend, she was making hits at 20-25 yards she couldn’t even try the prior weekend. I know Mantis works.

I really want to get some of these for my rifle and handgun. I see the value in it. I can’t get to a range right now (none in my area since Covid and family land is an hour away, plus I’m taking care of my dad who is in the last stages of dementia). You can’t stay good with a gun without trigger time.

I’ve had one for about 2 1/2 months and the switch to active continuous on has broken off as of last night and the unit goes to intermittent full auto when the battery is inserted and the trigger is squeezed ONCE. Mine has a green laser and I was going to buy one with a red laser as well, but not after the fiasco that the first unit has turned into. Like the other guy said, BUYER BEWARE, and that’s as simple and honest as I can make it.

Nice shooting! Im not an expert, but for El Presidente are you shooting for accuracy with your first 2 shots? You could cut your time a bit if you just send a hammered pair. The A zone is big, you can use it all 😉
  • Have you ever tried shooting right handed? Jk lol Cool video thank you for sharing looks like for the most part you tightened things up and improved your time. Been on the fence about getting one but will probably get one now.

Not a criticism but have you considered a better sighting solution for short engagements than a LPVO? I get training with the rifle you use, but I'd guess you'd be faster with a different optical solution That all said Very cool product, especially for saving time going to the range, or just cost of ammo

it's weird with all this effort that you didn't put in some simulated recoil; it would have been very easy to accomplish; so its kinda a wasted opportunity not too.

Three Blackbeards later and not one worked properly. I tried each Blackbeard on three different rifles (a Colt 6920, a PWS, and a Bushmaster) and not one worked properly. I guess that I will never know for myself. Buyer beware.
