So today I decided to draw more of the world's flags from memory. Recognizing a country's flag is one thing, but actually drawing that nation's flag is surprisingly difficult.

Fun fact about the flag of Paraguay, it has two different sides with two different seals! The Saudi Arabia flag also has something similar, as its flag is manufactured with identical obverse and reverse sides, to ensure the shahada reads correctly, from right to left, from either side. On the Paraguayan flag, the observe side is the national coat of arms, but the reverse side has the seal of the treasury which is a yellow lion below a red Phrygian cap on the top of a pole (symbolizing courage) and the words Paz y Justicia or "Peace and Justice". The differences in the obverse and reverse sides comes from the period when José de Francia was in power between 1814 and 1840. The flag's tricolor was inspired by France. For the Equatorial Guinea coat of arms, its six stars for the mainland and the islands, while the tree is a silk-cotton tree as it is considered that under a silk-cotton tree a treaty was signed between Spain and a local ruler that marked the beginning of the colonial rule. And the Kiribati flag is absolutely incredible. The yellow frigatebird symbolizes command over the sea, freedom, and dance patterns. The blue and white wavy bands represent the Pacific Ocean (and the three white bands represent the three archipelagos of Gilbert, Phoenix, and Line Islands), which surrounds Kiribati, and the sun refers to Kiribati's position astride the Equator. The Sun has 17 rays representing the 16 Gilbert Islands and Banaba.

I don't quite blame you for mixing the Antigua & Barbuda and Kiribati flags, they are both nations that are proud of the tropical environment they call home and that is reflected with the great designs of their flags. I love how you made the dragon on the Bhutan flag look like a dinosaur, which honestly all countries should put a dinosaur on their flag! The Bhutan flag is so epic. Here's the lore behind it: The yellow half represents the yellow scarf worn by the monarch, which in turn represents the being of the monarch. The orange half represents the spiritual tradition, the flourishing of the Buddhist teachings in general and that of the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions in particular. The dragon's placement in the center of the flag over the dividing line between the flag's two colors signifies the equal importance of both civic and monastic traditions in the Kingdom of Druk (Bhutan) and evokes the strength of the sacred bond between sovereign and people. The dragon's white color signifies the undefiled thoughts of the people that express their loyalty, patriotism and great sense of belonging to the Kingdom although they have different ethnic and linguistic origins. The jewels held in the dragon's claws represent Bhutan's wealth and the security and protection of its people.

I tried playing along, and it's been a hot minute since I reviewed my flags, so some like Paraguay I completely blanked on. Proud to say I did pretty decent on St. Kitts and Nevis since I remembered the flag you flashed. Also aced Canada since it's my country, and I have not improved at drawing the leaf since 2nd grade. Fun video! Defineately a challenge
