Lee Pace as Thranduil really did the elves justice. He is majestic. The most beautiful male elf portrayed in a movie.

This battle still makes one emotional. They realized, in the end, they had a common enemy. So, instead of fighting petty squabbles over shinies, the banded together to fight for their people. Excellent series! The entire thing from The Lord of the Rings to The Hobbit. Beautifully done!
  • I love the elves!!! Their preciseness and discipline is amazing to watch. Even when the dwarves broke their line, they were fluid in reforming their lines and allowing their archers to do the work. I wish there were more movies that portrayed the elves in this way!!

This soundtrack without all the sound effects... It just made the whole battle hit differently. Even more vibrantly and majestically.
  • Elves jumping over that draves wall to fight orcs is by far my favourite scene ❤🙌

The best scene of the hobbit trilogy. And with Bergersen’s magnificent score, just Goosebumps

The united stand still gives me goosebumps. What an epic moment in the history of cinema! I can't recall any other scene as epic as it.
  • The dwarves going straight into action when the orcs showed up as the elves stayed looking is awesome.
  • The commander of wooden elves is the most beautiful and stylish Elf i have ever seen in movies!!!!!

2:50 Oh, my God! My heart beat like crazy when the elves jumped from behind Dwarf's shield. Good teamwork. This is a wonderful cooperative battle scene of two races!

I can't describe how much excitement I got when I first saw this. When I was 11-12 after I watched that legendary LOTR movie, I went to a small bookshop near my home and found the Chinese version of The Hobbits. Funny thing is that book was on sale and quite cheap, at that time there were many fanfiction books and I didn't expect that "The Hobbit" was a true original story. But as it's cheap so I can afford it by skip some after school snacks. After I finished that book, I thought it's crazy good, the adventure and battle are so well told that made me wish if any company could make a movie based on this "fanfiction book". 10 years later, when I was finishing my last year in university, this happened. I watched it of course, and I was so excited and proud because surprisingly I can still remember many plots and some of the scenes are very similar as I imagined in my 13 year old head. I was in tears several times. I just want to say thank you to J.R.R Tolkien, to all the people who made these movies, and to that bookshop owner. This is one of a kind life experience, and I am really lucky experienced all these. Thank all of you again, and wish you all a happy Hobbit life in peace. A random Chinese guy.
  • All I can say is, what an amazing piece of music that goes so well with the fight scene. Well done.
  • As a Two Steps fan, and a Tolkien geek, I am loving this, the timing on the editing is great. Sometimes you've just gotta suspend disbelief and be that kid in the cinema again. Takes me back to kids learning elvish at high school and bugging the music teacher to do Elbereth Gilthoniel
  • Some battle scenes are truly epic. The opening battle scene in Gladiator is another example. Strength and Honor!🛡⚔️🏹

Most songs for these clips choose songs of victory or heroism. Love how this one just reflects the sad reality of war.

I think we can all agree that Eagles just solves about everything in Middle Earth.
