You obviously killed that thing way quicker than average...mission accomplished! 👍😂

Great review. Thank you! I'm glad Wahoo is replacing bikes and getting the failed units back. This will hopefully lead to better design in future versions for the critical failures. Always a gamble with version 1.

Great hands-on review! Actually love the home garage. It’s authentic and lends to the believability / credibility. If things are too GUCCI, you tend to question the independence of the YouTuber

An excellent and fair review Mark. I bought my kickr bike partly off the back of your very first video on it and don’t regret it at all.
  • Excellent commentary, Mark. Rational, well thought out and presented reviews are a rarity.

I wish I could mentally justify the tremendous cost enough to get one. I just can’t. I don’t understand why the world of cycling is so ridiculously expensive in general. $12k super bikes? $3k static trainers? $300 padded shorts? It’s so stupid....

I am echoing what most have said already, excellent review! What I enjoyed mostly is your delivery with humour intended or not. Good luck with the new unit.
  • Great post, I just got mine from local bike ship 3 weeks ago and loving it. Glad you mentioned the resonance issue, I was wondering if that was normal but sounds like it is. Now looking into rocker plates for a bit more comfort and realism... Also love your mantra ‘Better then Average’. Keep up the good work, great videos..

Bought a Kickr Bike recently and started watching your videos off the back of that, great content, keep up the good work!
  • Great content once again:) Did concider getting a wahoo bike for a long time, but since im close to the max on both weight and height(198cm &115kg) i went for the Stages Bike. Rock solig. love it.. Keep up the good work !

Yep, that’s a fair vid and review of the Kickr bike. Only gripe I had with mine was that nasty thin bar tape they use. SO much better with some proper tape fitted. And the saddle of course but, as you say, everyone is gonna change that anyway. Keep the vids coming - they help me keep me motivated on my own TR fitness journey. And more vids with Nixon please, he’s adorable. 😊

You can adjust the forward and backwards leaver tension. There is an official Wahoo guide, but is basically removing the leaver, turning it and putting back on the splines. You can really clamp them tight. And yes had to leave that FB after 24hrs!
  • @noggintube
Nice critique. Agree 100% about saddle and pedals etc. First thing I did was changed those so was glad it wasn't pricey items they'd used.

Great video, you sum it up perfectly. Mine broke today and I have no intention of looking elsewhere. I love this bike. For me, I have a power supply with a blinking green light when plugged into the Kickr bike and it gets no power at all... I have read that this will be a replacement bike. I am slightly concerned that this appears to be a common fault yet it still happens. My bike is only 2 months old...

First 20 seconds into this video “I like this bloke!” Subscribed.

Thanks for the review! I am also rather heavy (108 kg) and got a Kickr bike last November. I initially had some doubts about the robustness and wanted to go for the Stage alternative but still bought the kickr bike since it was the only one in stock. Very happy with my kickr so fare! Just had to change the saddle because I had some pain in the tailbone and I sometimes experience small cracking noises when sprinting. I would greatly appreciate road bike tips or links for heavy ridders. I recently replaced the wheels of my road bike and struggled to find robust ones. When you are heavy, you are obviously less keen on saving a few grams than on getting robust and reliable parts.

I hacked the switches on the inside of the brake hoods. Peel the hood back from the bar and slip something like a beer bottle cap in there to keep the buttons from being pressed (I crafted something a bit more elegant, but you get the idea). Roll the hoods back in place and no more accidental dropping out of ERG mode. Thanks for the review. I'll be sure to avoid the FB group.

Hi Mark, thanks so much for compiling this video. I had ordered my bike before yours had developed those nasty noises and whilst awaiting delivery thought what the hell have I done ! I am in my fifties have not ridden a bike since I was a teenager and have been on this thing five days a week for six weeks now and love it. I am seriously considering buying an outside bike as a result of this experience. I just hope I do not have issues as I do not relish sending this thing back. It is very heartening to hear Wahoo have such good customer service should I have problems . At this stage of the game I would definitely recommend this bike along with Zwift to anyone. Let’s just hope my Wahoo Kicker Bike is an above average one 😄

Outstanding review. Everything I wanted to know. Thanks.
