October 14, 2015: It was one of the strangest innings in baseball history. What looked like a killing blow to Toronto on a rare momentum-killing technicality in the top of the 7th, turned into the Blue Jays’ most memorable moment in 22 years in the bottom of the 7th. Helped by a historic defensive collapse by the Rangers, and culminating in Jose Bautista's "bat flip heard 'round the world", the Blue Jays go on to win the ALDS in dramatic comeback fashion.

  • In my humble opinion that will go down as the greatest bat flip of all time...

No matter how Jose’s career went after that, that moment cemented him in legend status forever.

Skipping afternoon university classes to go home and watch this game live with my dad was probably the best decision of my adult life.

You have to understand the context of this moment. The Jays felt the game was being stolen from them by the umps, by obscure rule calls, and by simple misfortune. Then, Bautista. The home run moon shot released all the tension in every Jays fan in the stadium and around the world. It was cathartic. It was electrifying. It was a moment of pure emotional release. The bat flip was part of it, but it was the entire sequence. The stare, the swing, the flip, the jog around the bases. Every Jays fan felt it. It was a moment of pure sports exhilaration.

Never in my life have a seen a crowd this loud and passionate.

Can you imagine how Jose Bautista must’ve felt running around those bases.

As a Yankees fan and watching aaron judge hit 61 last night, this is by far still my favorite home run I’ve ever seen on television. Pure bliss.

Even the Policeman at 04:08 is cheering. What a hit by Bautista. I became a fan of the Blue Jays when I visited Toronto in 2018. Saw one game live. What an experience. Greetings from Germany! :)

Who’s here 4 years later? Still as great as the day it happened, and I’m not a fan of either team
  • I’m a Braves fan so I have absolutely no dog in the fight really when this was happening but I remember this moment so vividly. One of my favorite moments ever in sports. I was just casually watching this game not really that into it and I reacted to this game as if I was a blue jays fan. Gives me chills just seeing it. I couldn’t imagine being there in person at the stadium if I was a fan

As a Brewers fan, this is one of the most iconic moments in MLB History. The energy in Toronto must have been insane.

I don't care about texas, toronto, or baseball, but my god was this amazing.
  • @haleyxoox4915
im a rangers fan and bro im not even made about this, this is just insane and i still get chills 5 years later
  • Bruh the fans made that happen as much as the players did, the Rangers could feel the pressure, they started to crumble, and Bautista dropped the hammer on them. Shivers every time

“Bautista with the drive! Deep left field! No doubt about it!” That call never gets old
  • @snappy452
That Bautista HR has to be in the top 25 biggest singular moments in baseball history. That was an incredible moment and Im a Yankees fan/non-Blue Jays fan. Insane badassery by Jose Bautista.
  • @chrisquarrie
His legend lives on, in a mural of the 'bat flip' that was just unveiled in Toronto. Epic! Congratulations to Jose, on his retiring as a Blue Jay. This stands as one of the greatest moments in Toronto sports history, right up there with the infamous 1992-1993 Jays.

Missing the leadership of Bautista. What a time to be a Blue Jays fan. Never forget this moment.
