To be used in procedurally selecting between various lunar outposts, and loading the randomly selected one as the player gets into rendering range.
Potentially also to be used for doing the same for terrain, thus having randomly generated terrain features (macroscopic landscapes) as the player traverses the moon.
Each terrain datalayer loaded can then have several smaller outpost layers within it, so which terrain gets loaded impacts which outposts can then be selected from.
