On this very special Deep Cuts, Hasan catches up with an old friend: comedian John Mulaney. Watch as the two talk about comedy and John's new Netflix special 'John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch.' John and Hasan are also joined by some other very special guests: the desi teenagers that Hasan interviewed a few months back. Abeer and (most) of the crew are back to ask John a few questions of their own!

Get a guy who looks at you like Hassan looks at John Mulaney.

I’m so proud of John Mulaney overcoming his greatest fear: 13 year olds

You know what I love? You can tell by his reaction that John Mulaney had no idea the question about "why were you carrying your dog like that" was coming which means he really, on the spot, made up an entirely new three minute stand up routine about walking his dog. This is why he's one of the best storytellers alive

Alternate title: Hasan Minhaj is a shy John Mulaney fanboy for 33 minutes.

Wow Hasan was so polite in this, it's clear he looks up to John so much and was a little awkward and shy. Nothing like he is with other guests, he's usually in control and he knows that it's his show so he can be confident but in this he seemed to tense up a little and let Mulaney kinda run it, but Mulaney was also a little shy and nervous for going impromptu. I still really loved this, it was so authentic and adorable!
  • "Don't try to act too young." This is John Mulaney. He's never been young. At 10 he was a middle aged man listening to jazz reading the Times.

Abeer is just a smaller, more chaotic version of Hasan.

It’s so inspiring to see two Asian-Americans on stage together.
  • Can we get a whole special of John Mulaney explaining why America likes things?
  • the mighty duo we didn't know we wanted but we definitely needed

I love how highly he speaks of the kids in his show. Like he's proud of all of them so much and is going to take a break from comedy to become a drama teacher

The collab I wanted but I didn't think I would get yessssss!

"Now, you recall, your sister works at his law firm." Am I the only one who finds it endearing that these two legit have personal lives that intersect with each other?
  • “Don’t try to act too young because it’s just weird” is EXACTLY what John Mulaney meant when he said teenagers will make fun of you but in a very specific and devastating way 😂
