Sherman was old, smelled bad and cost $30,000. This man thought he was perfect.

"I did keep my promise. No one ever hurt him again." My heart.

Listening to that man telling Sherman's story while choking on his own tears made me cry. I'm proud of you for what you did for Sherman.

I had my own Sherman. His name was goose. Great big gray and white pit. He had been a bait dog because he wouldn’t fight. Then some people got him and acted like they saved him but they beat him and threw him down basement stairs. By the time we got him he would barely bark. But he was 125 lbs of love. With a 27 inch head. After we had him for about 5 years goose had a seizure. He passed with us all around him. Hugging him. Telling him we loved him. I miss him.

Don't Lie, we all cried at the end.

At this point we're all crying and we all miss Sherman.

I am crying so hard I started crying when he said, "His world became pitch black, and he was so scared. " Broke me, and I kept crying harder and harder as the video finished I have had dogs pass away, and even though I have a hard time showing emotion of how much I miss them, and knowing one day one of the best, and favorite dog that I grew up with, which is a pitbull, will pass away some day and I'll never see him again I'm sorry for your loss I hope you're doing okay

holy crap. I thought this was going to be a nice short story of a caring adoption. I did not expect to be sat here streaming with tears. I'm a grown ass man and it's not even my dog... If you happen to check the comments here, you sound like a great guy and Sherman got lucky in the end.

Hearing this man brake down talking about his beautiful and precious dog broke my heart. I’m crying my eyes out. I cry because Sherman is gone but also my tears are out gratitude because he had a warm home and an incredibly loving family at the end of his horrible life. How many Shermans are out there and will never be loved like this sweet dog? Please be kind to animals and report animal abuse if you see it. 💔

I know this has been 2 years ago, but this is my first time seeing this and I just had to comment. Talking about crying like a baby…I am a mess right now. Sherman..what a wonderful dog that had such an awful beginning of life (so not fair). Then this couple that had to be angels, gave him so much love at the end of his life. I have to say, Sherman’s daddy is one beautiful, caring man. If only others saw and treated animals the way he did Sherman. OMG, what a wonderful world we would be living. I'm about a year into life with an often frustrating rescue. He's the latest of a long line of many that I've had the privilege of having. I thought this guy would be easier, but it hasn't worked out that way. Every time now that I become exasperated, I stop and listen to Sherman's story again. It reminds me of why I do it: The love you give, and the love you get in return 💖 God Bless You, Dear Sherman 🌈, and Sherman's Mom and Dad, too ❤❤

The gentlest of giants. You and your family loved Sherman and he loved you. He trusted you to take care of him when he was in pain. You kept your promise 😢❤

He passed knowing he was loved. That is all an animal wants.

You can HEAR how much the guy loved Sherman in the pain in his voice as he spoke about the end. Sherman got a beautiful end of his life. He was thoroughly cared for and loved more than he'd ever felt in his life before. God bless this person, their kind heart, and the dedication they had for Sherman...who totally deserved every bit of love they gave and more.

If only there were more people like this family, this world would actually be worth living in. ANYONE that harms an animal deserves the same in return. PERIOD........ Thank you for taking such care of Sherman, one of God's angels here on earth...... His final days with you were not lost in vain, he knew you were with him on his final journey......
