a comedic retelling of Stray's in game story, god bless jimothy

Alright, time to get real. I appreciate you checking out this video despite its unfinished state. this video, even though it caused me a lot of trouble, it was a learning experience, and I will take the mistakes I made and make sure they are not repeated if I ever try this format again.

I do want to note that I never realized it but, this video ends on the PERFECT cliffhanger, if there is enough demand for it, that's a prime two-parter right there.

QUICK UPDATE: I trimmed out the first 45 seconds of the video where I describe the video not being complete + the attempted "remake" of the beginning part of the video, for new viewers sake. Here's everything you need to know before starting the video, in written form: So, before you watch this video, I just want to say that its been scrapped, which basically means its going to end abruptly out of nowhere. But that doesnt mean that theres no effort put into it, this video has taken me an entire year to work on, and the reason why I scrapped it was because it really started to affect me mentally. I’ll go into further detail at the end of the video if you’re curious on what happened, and what im gonna do going forward, but for right now im just gonna tell you what you need to know before watching, so this video was kind of all over the place, I really didn't know exactly what I wanted to make when I was first starting out, but towards the middle you’ll notice it's a lot easier to follow. I actually was trying to fix this, by making an entirely new script for the beginning and the end of the game that matched the format that the video ended up becoming. But it just became way too much for me, I only got so far. So you’ll be watching the remake at the beginning, and then when you get to where I stopped, it will switch back to the original video, just where the remake left off.

Such a fun project, sucks to hear how much it drained out of you. Still for what you have, it’s great. Hope your mental health is improving now that you got it done and out there.
  • I hope your mental health recovers from this. getting overwhelmed and burnt out is... hell.
  • @therealestcad

Great Video. I feel you with the burnout thing. I hope you still can be proud of yourself for making this, because it turned out good.

Sometimes videos demand too much time and the healthier option is to move on, specially for YouTubers who usually upload 10-15 minute long videos, so don't stress about not finishing the video. With that being said, it's shocking that an unfinished video didn't disappoint in terms of quality, humor, and pacing. No video is perfect, and the ending is abrupt, that's inarguable. However the rest of the video is amazing and entertaining all the way throughout. There's so much attention to detail and care put into this video, it's made obvious through the editing. For example the fluent animations and motion blur of the cat sprites. Or the use of a variety of sound effects for different bits/situations. Or the camera effects like shaking and smooth zoom-ins. The effort must be respected because I know it must've hurt to do all those keyframes. Something I loved during this was the confidence. You're not shy of being yourself throughout this video, whether it may be through the retelling, commentary, or bits. You also don't over do it and fill the video with unnecessary amounts of bits and jokes (most of which were genuinely funny ones). The whole thing is filled with just enough personality and you never yap on for too long. The spotlight wasn't taken away from the game and you showed the necessary amount of gameplay and story. And somehow you took all of this, the bits, the commentary, the gameplay, the story, and balance it all in a way so that nothing went on for too long or too short. Respecting the viewer's time was taken into consideration, which is something anybody who's watched will appreciate. This video is sure to turn most who watch into a subscriber, heck, into a fan even. It's a great introduction to your channel and shows what you're all about. It'd be incredible if you're able to fully transition into making these longer types of videos, but it'd be just as good if you bring these qualities to your shorter, more frequent videos. Keep it up, I'm hoping to see you grow in 2024!
