Do a similar thing with POTATOES! No sugar but cheese, olive oil, chives or parsley.

I used more apple butter and basted the tops with melted butter before baking, sprinkled a bit of cinnamon, no sugar, and when done, I sprinkled with powdered sugar. So good! Thank you.

Water, apples, lemon juice , 1/3 cup sugar then micro 3 minutes, roll strips of puffed pastry, apple butter & overlay apples, roll, sprinkle sugar cinnamon & bake 350 for 15 minutes, light snowfall powder sugar. Cool

My only tweak would be MORE apple butter, that was but a whisper.
  • My first boyfriend planned to make these for me when I was a teenager! I can't believe I'm seeing these again! He was a sweetheart who loved to be in the kitchen. I hope he still loves to make food and gets to make pastries for his wife.

Made these with my grandma. Just an fyi, you should baste the tops of them with butter, milk or egg yolks to help keep apple slice tops from drying out to a weird texture. They were delicious aside from the weird half dehydrated top part.

The fact that something called" apple butter" exists has already impressed me
  • This is one of the first food videos I’ve seen that looks simple, delicious and presents beautifully. Honestly. This is a legit looking recipe.

If you soften the Apples in the microwave, you can also use the same "Apple water" to make a syrup reducing some of it with sugar over a stove, then use a brush to give the pastry and apples a glistening look 😁

I did lemon for YEARS! One day, I didn’t have any lemons but I had some limes. Knowing it is the citric acid that keeps it from oxidation (turning brown) which you can also get from orange juice, I used the limes. SOOOO much better, sweeter. I rarely keep lemons these days but I have always got a few limes on hand. Try it!

Those are beautiful. 50 years ago my mom ,my aunts and several freinds would meet at a home for Tuesday Club. Some times they used their best linens and dishes and bqts of flowers. Your puff rolls would of been perfect . Thanks for bringing those loving memories back to me.
