A viewer of the channel reached out and asked if I could help out cutting a tree back for them. The old man told me that before he built the deck, this massive tree was just a tiny twig. He didn't think much of it. 40 years later, it grew into this massive headache. He told me that he was going to attempt to cut it himself, but there would be no way to handle such project without the proper equipment. Plus, I wouldn't want him getting hurt trying to do so. I mean, there were times where I almost slipped and fell on my back. Some branches were so heavy, it required 2 people to carry them. And not to mention, just how high some of those branches were, making them very hard to reach. I told him that I wasn't going to charge him anything since I do make a living from the videos I create. He still insisted on getting us something, and at the end of the day bought us pizza, meat lovers!!

My helper Max and I were able to tackle majority of the tree. However, there is still a large portion that needs to be cleaned up by a tree service company.

I love that he asked for help, and I love that you answered! And when he asked if he could do anything to help you, what a sweetheart. Great work guys!!
  • If nothing else, you saved this man money because it is less tree to cut and remove for the Arborist. Nice job.

Good man not only to help this older man, but also know your limitations based on experience, knowledge and equipment.
  • I'm so glad you had a helper for this. It's definitely not a 1 person job.
  • This place needs a lot of attention, decking looks unsafe, glad you cleared it out for him.

An arborist is going to piece it out by chunks from top to bottom because of how close it is to the house and surrounding stuff. That avoids having to bring in any heavy equipment

Word to the wise — NEVER let any tree grow up that close to a dwelling. Of course it will cause problems if not catastrophic damage.
  • That tree was "pollarded" at one point, cut into stubs and then the branches restarting were cut off each fall. It does contain the top growth of the tree. At some point, like seedling trees, the branches weren't cut back and this gave the long growth you started with. Certainly, the roots and trunk of this "twig" is now causing foundation issues where it has been growing. You did a thoughtful job figuring how to do the basic work.

Would love to see acouple of lawn care guys working together and going around the full yard and trimming things back for them. You did a great job on this tree.
  • You guys did very well. That probably saved the homeowner a couple of thousand dollars.

I am truly grateful to you. Thanks to your reasonable logic, I made it here. I wish you and your family good health. I love everyone on this earth.

Groot looks a lot better after his haircut. He said afterwards "I AM GROOT-FUL!!". Excellent job done considering your professional abilities not usually in dealing with large wooden grass. 😁😁
  • Looks like someone trimmed that tree years ago, too. Time for it to go! Glad you stayed safe!
  • I really like videos like this that show removing limbs etc. It's a night and day type of project. Nice work guys! I'm sure the owner was happy.
  • Wonderful "pruning" of the tree. So glad a viewer reached out for help. Larry has beautiful areas in his yard. Maybe you could do a video if and when Larry's tree gets cut down? Keep on keeping on 😊

Wow you had a helper today that must have made it easier and quicker for you. Great job.

Need to do a part 2 on the same property and tidy up behind 🪴
  • Every time you stepped on that tree, I was waiting for it to snap. You did a good job getting the worst of it off. Glad you had a helper. 😊❤
  • It was so hard for me to believe that all the limbs came off of one tree limb! Un believable ! You and your helper took care of that mess in good time.Congratulations.
