Saw a 12 year old young man at the range the other day. On his belt clip was a small flash light, pry bar, Victorinox knife, pill bottle, and ferro rod. good for him.

There’s some of this vibe in all edc stuff but the pocket trash subset of edc is just straight up hype beast bullsh** with nearly all pretense of usefulness or preparedness thrown out the window. Even knowing that, the draw is so strong that I’m still attracted to it and like looking at peoples’ collections. We’re all just 6 foot raccoons hoarding shiny baubles.

$1800 bead on a $1 piece of cord. Priorities my friends! Epic I love it. I dont carry anything other than a PODs slammer from the 90s.

Kills me that board gamers and RPGers have been buying copper or other metal dice for decades but some pretentious group makes them and charges a shit ton.

I love all the the strange edc stuff . The coins and beads are cool , not for me though I’m not putting anything in my pocket that doesn’t have a real world use . I can always rub my lighter for luck or fidget with my useful gear

Pretty much everyone has got an interest they're willing to spend extra on. Hard to judge without being hypocritical

I spend a LOT of money on very dumb things. . . Like thousands upon thousands. . . But if I ever spend an absurd amount on a bead to put on a knife lanyard, someone needs to hit me over the head with something. Mostly bc I’d much rather just tie a monkey paw knot at the end of lanyards I tie myself.

Whatever floats your boat. If someone wants to spend crazy money on little trinkets, hey it's their life and their money. My thing is to be as minimalist as possible. Got into EDC and found I was just weighing my pockets down with stuff that had a very low percentage of being used. So I got a Maxpediton edcm huge maximizer, filled it up with stuff and keep it in the console in my car.

This theme was great! You captured the heartbeat of an entire sub-culture of EDC, and it was so entertaining learning of all the different makers from all of your submissions. Way to forge into some uncharted territory. Carry on! 👊

I guess for context regarding Conner's submission: I have never once in my life spent more than $35 for any daily carry knife, having stuck with whatever CRKT or Kershaw was readily available. You've spent over $300 on how many knives now? That's literally 10x price, for what is essentially the same product (something that cuts, and is a tool). It all comes down to what makes you happy, so long as you can responsibly afford it. Conner's submission seems "crazy" to some, but your personal collection seems crazy to me...... and me simply carrying an EDC knife seems crazy to others. :)

I remember years ago when the EDC subreddit was falling in love with these little handmade fidget toys that spin... Yup. A few years after that is when the cheap fidget spinner boom happened and I laughed so hard at all the people in the subreddit that spent HUNDREDS on custom, hand made, titanium fidget spinners.

If I'm gonna carry a chip in my pocket, it's gonna be a local casino $100 or $500...it at least has a use.

I wish I still had it… but, I remember back in the day, I had this dope, brass POG slammer. “Yin-Yang” finger depresses. Knurling around the edge. It would make great pocket trash!!

Loved this video. I'm a bit older and we always had "stuff" in our pockets. I 😊 have alot of fidget toys and some pretty stuff too but I just love seeing all the stuff you guys buy!! It's amazing. Wow is all I can say.

I really appreciate your level head. It seems like you think logically and not emotionally. I'm not affiliated with KPL but I do get aggravated when these groups of "adults" reach for their torches and pitchforks and go on a witch hunt. If you like the product, buy it. If you don't, don't. As a machinist at work right now sitting here watching this while I watch 4 robots run 4 lathes I question my sanity for working for the man. Making my bosses filthy rich making oil field tools… I could be making 10 “Knucks” a day that people will pay $2000+ American dollars for. I’m an idiot and I’ve waisted my life, at least my boss enjoys all his Lamborghini’s🤣
