I do want to apologize for uploading this song, genuinely. I uploaded it in 2015, Undertale was new and I was 18 years old and pretty dumb. This song is on bandcamp for purchase on an album with a ton of talented artists, so re-uploading it for free is honestly pretty rude of me.

That said, at this point the song is all over the internet due to its popularity. I considered taking the song uploads down, but at this point what would that do? So instead I'm going to use this space to HIGHLY recommend that, if you're a fan of this song, PLEASE consider buying the album on bandcamp. It's only 1$. Really. 1$. Support the artists!

Song History:

TLDR: This is not from Undertale, Earthbound, The Halloween hack, or Deltarune. It's not an unused track either. This song stands on its own as a random song Toby made for an earthbound fan album.

_

This song was released in 2012. That means it was not in Earthbound, which came out in 1994, nor the Halloween-Hack, which was released in 2008.

This song does predate Undertale, which releases 3 years later in 2015. It's is not anywhere in Undertale, or in any of the game's files. 'Megalo-Strike Back' may have been created as a personal sequel to 'Megalovania'. It's only official release was in "I Miss You," which is an album of songs created by Earthbound Fans.

...And the album cover is the window from Ness's house in EarthBound, with the text 'I Miss You' repeating behind it.

For those confused on the origins of this song, I have updated the description to help explain it better. I originally wrote this description when I first uploaded the video 5 years ago, and the annotations on the video were removed in a youtube update long ago, so hopefully it makes more sense now.

Am i the only one here that just enjoy the song
  • I wish that Toby Fox didn't have toxicity and cringe follow him everywhere he goes, he's actually a compositional genius and it really shows.
  • @steveen8489
Megalo Strike Back is my favorite song from the Pepsi Man 2 soundtrack
  • @LukaUnempress
This sounds desperate in a way, as if your fighting a close friend that you don't want to fight... Amazing.
  • @deejorno
You know, I came here for a cool song. I scrolled down, looked at, like, three comments, then got Terminal 7 Luigi. Thanks Obama.

Hands down, I love how Toby used the "The Evil Giygas Attacks!" riff in this song. Don't get me wrong, I love BOTH games. But, it really just shows his love for the games, and how it inspired him to do so much for the gaming community. Also, you're all wrong. This isn't Earthbound OR Undertale. It's quite clearly the Crazy Bus hidden OST.

Huh. Not many people here actually talk about this song itself. Kinda disappointing, as this song is really good, I like it a lot.
  • Considering the use of Megalovania in the original Halloween Hack, I feel this could work with a fight against Jeff. GOD I WANT TOBY TO MAKE ANOTHER MOTHER FAN GAME
  • @CorvodaPop
Turns out after all these years I was wrong. the song is actually from the official Nintendo licensed Hi Hi PUFFY AMIYUMI: KAZNAPPED! for the GameBoy Advance. sorry for the confusion. (this is a joke)
  • @masonbruner1239

Welcome to the comment section of this video! Here, there are two different types of comments being portaryed here. 1. Undertale comments asking which video they came from, and discussing which character this could be the theme for! Some examples of these types of comments are: "Does anyone think this theme would be PERFECT for Chara?" "Who came from the Papyrus fight?" "This song would be great for Undertale!" 2. The Earthbound comments thinking about how the theme could be used in Earthbound, and the dictating comments saying that everyone should talk about Earthbound. Some examples of these comments are: "This would be a great song for a Lucas/Claus fight!" "STOP USING THIS MUSIC FOR UNDERTALEEE" "This song is meant for an Earthbound fan soundtrack. You shouldn't be talking about Undertale. You should be talking about Earthbound." We hope you enjoy your stay at the comment section. Bye bye!

Regardless of where it may or may not be from, this song still slaps.
  • That sprite there is literally a window from Ness' house at night.
  • @BananaSlayer_
People are saying that this comment section is: Undertale fans Earthbound fans Homestuck fans Random people. But why does no one ackknowledge that 90% of this comment section is these types of comments?
  • @alphix7228
When you can't find the cancerous comments because the comment section is full of people warning you about the cancerous comments
  • I like this song, for what I feel it portrays. It gives the feeling of anger, resentment, from something so otherworldly yet understandable. The song is telling you that what you're facing is a godly being that is PISSED OFF and will not stop until you're a smear in the ground. Or maybe I'm just overanalyzing a song too late.
