As an elementary school teacher, if a child says an obscene word. It's better to ignore it than to make a big deal about it. Otherwise they will want to use it more and more often. If ignored and no attention given, they typically stop using it.

"Censorship is just preserving the negativity of language." Such a great quote, it really gives a new perspective on censorship.

"As a former child myself..." BWUUH? YOU were a child?!

Last time I was this early Kenny was still alive.

I've learned more life lessons from South Park than anything
  • I watched only the first couple of episodes and then one recent episode, and something surprised me: The censored "Fu******" is way funnier than the uncensored one. Somehow, the BLEEP makes it feel more earned and special than when it's just thrown about like no big deal. One of my favorite scenes is where Kyle gives a heartfelt plea for the aliens to have compassion, and then 2 seconds later goes on an entirely censored tirade of profanity that's mostly a kid yelling at the top of his lungs in between constant bleeping; like Marcellus' briefcase, it left something to your imagination, letting your mind think it was more profane that it actually would have been non-censored.

South Park has always been a middle ground for everyone, but has there ever been a moment where the show said a certain side was right or wrong?

Member when Amy Schumer didn't take credit from other comedians
  • @heresyinsider
does amy Schumer have to steal credit for everything?
  • @yellowcougar18
I'm glad someone pointed out what I always believed- Amy Schumer did not 'uncensor' Comedy Central's use of the word 'pussy'. Instead Schumer chose to be an unfunny cliche-the Dane Cooke of 'feminist' comedy.

I love South Park, I remember staying up to watch them with my older brother I was like 8 or 9.

I keep on saying this, so please, give me a sight Kaptain. Make "Amazing Bulk - Making a Masterpiece"!
  • @snappystettner
Honestly, the bleeping is funnier than the actual word. Watching South Park on DVD and hearing the characters curse feels tame compared to when it's censored on TV. On TV it's punchy and off-putting

"censorship preserves the sensitivity of language" Dude, youre an amazing writer. The diction, the syntax, everything really makes this so good even just to listen to
  • As someone who was a teenager when South Park started, it has been incredible to watch this phenomenon happen from the very beginning. Big thank you to Matt and Trey for always pushing further and further.
