I literally laughed my ass off for about 5 minutes over the TATE MODE bit. Joe's sense of humor is unmatched.

As a New Zealander, I can confirm the New Zealand Story is historically accurate

A hat trick happens in European football matches where the referee does a magic trick using a top hat. The player to guess if the animal that gets pulled out is a bunny or a dove gets to kick the ball first.
-
TATE MODE!!!!! 😂 never failed to put a smile on my face every time.
-
The screen thing is really well thought out!

For Lupin III, it looks like the money bags are all lined up along the top of the stage, and the dotted-line ones you were trying to grab are probably just indicators for where you're supposed to drop them.

2:25 This is pure comedy. (and MY kind of comedy at that) and it can only be TRULY appreciated when you've seen countless Game Sack episodes highlighting TATE mode in this way. Now all that's left is to see a super cut of every "TATE MODE" moment in ascending order of intensity. Then my life would be complete.

The TATE MODE bit still has me laughing almost 30 minutes later. Good stuff. The rotatable screen is this device’s secret weapon. It’s really nifty. I’m a tiny bit surprised that Alpine Ski and/or Zoo Keeper didn’t make it in. I can still play ‘em via Taito Legends, but they would’ve been great fits here. There’s not enough unique coin-ops here to draw me away from compilations/Arcade Archives releases that I currently own, but I can definitely see the appeal.

I think the "censorship" in Rainbow Islands might refer to them having changed the music. It was originally a riff on Somewhere Over The Rainbow, but they either lost the rights or were called out on it and had to change it.

I've seen a few reviews on this already, however I secretly pined for the Joe "Tate Mode." As usual you go well above what a normal reviewer would, analyzing the color palette. Good vid, man.
-
A "hat trick" is a magic trick where a person makes their hat disappear. I hope I cleared that up for you Joe.

Truxton? I love that album! "Spaceships of red, blue, and green..."
-
2:25 repeat this moment like 20 times till my tears dry off Pure comedy gold, thank you Joe

16:00 Pirate Pete looks exactly like Jungle Hunt. After a quick google search, I found out it is basically just an asset flip of Jungle Hunt.

That TATE MOOOOOOODE!!!!!! Has to be the best thing I've seen all year, amazing as always.
-
LOVE the absolute deadpan last segment of the bootleg soundtrack. :D Pure comedic genius
-
I absolutely love your videos. I think the interesting more info over personality approach you’ve taken since going solo is a positive move for the channel. To be honest, I kind of prefer this.
-
Thumbs up for the Tate Mode part. I died.
-
I love this man. I'm dying in the hospital and this is the first time I've smiled since the last time he released a video. Give me a reason to keep shooting for asking my will "JUST LEMME MAKE IT TO ONE MORE SUNDAY!" Great stuff as always. I hope my final words are TAAAAATE MOOOOOOODE!

Back at my 80s childhood, the golden age of the cabinets, taito was a seal of quality.
