Way back in 2012 between Bashar al-Assad and the American leaders only Assad knew this day was coming. Aside from my displeasure at our leaders imposing tegime change wars on other countries it also distresses me that our leaders have a poorer understanding of world events than our opponents do.

Btw well done Guardian on inserting the word "brutal" before civil war. As we all know civil wars occuring in friendly countries are not brutal in the least.
