Can we take a minute to appreciate the fact that this woman has fostered over 500 dogs? What a kind soul. So happy she took in that adorable little guy.

I'm 72 years old, therefore "old as dirt." If I'm tossed out like Holden was for that reason, I hope I get a new mommy like Carol. God bless you all!

I've adopted two "old as dirt" blind dogs. First one lived to 19. Present one is 18 and still going strong and living the dream. I love puppies, but old dogs are the dearest, sweetest fur babies to adopt.

I need stories like this to get me through the day. The world is so damn depressing lately it is nice to see that there is still good people out there working to make it a little bit better.
  • Ok but no one is talking about the sweet lady who adopted Holden- she seems so nice and I’m so glad they found each other

My retirement plan is to rescue senior dogs. This gives me so much to look forward to.....

It's been a depressing week for me but I love seeing stories like this where an older dog is valued and treated with dignity and respect and love and care.
  • I think we all want the love and security of a “forever home that will never change”. It is a privilege to provide that for a dog. Dogs bring out the best in humanity.
  • Almost ANYONE can adopt a puppy, but it takes real character, insight, love, and grace to adopt an older dog. God bless you, ma'am. This is very humbling to have watched this.

I love how she already had a bed with his name on it waiting for him when he got home! It shows how much she wanted him in her family!

The last shot of Holden looking carefree while snuggled up with his toy in his new home is precious. He knows he is loved.

So many dogs, a cat, a 3 year old and still such a clean house! Now that's impressive! 🐶
  • Holden's like an old man who walks into a 7-Eleven and uses his last few bucks to buy a Lotto ticket then hits the Jackpot! Way to go Holden--you deserve it sweet boy!
  • @geekthegirl6961
Nothing made me happier today than the sight of Holden snuggling on his new personalized bed with his Lambchop toy and welcome balloon next to him.
  • @ChannelDane
Love the personalized bed, his own dog bowls, and the balloon to welcome Holden to his new home. Very sweet and thoughtful adopter!

I've watched this several times because it's such a nice story about an obviously sweet, affectionate, cuddly doggo who finally gets all the cuddles he wants.
  • @cocolime6496
There's just something so heartbreaking about old pets getting thrown out like trash 💔

"He's old as dirt" Age is part of having a pet. You don't get forever puppies. Pets are our pest friends and rely on us just like our own children, you're supposed to be there for them through everything, that's what friendship means.

What a gentle old man Holden is. No matter how old, these dear furry friends deserve nothing but love and kindness - this is what the world should be. Just look into their eyes and realise they deserve love. Thank you Carol...

So much to be said for adopting an older dog. We did, and “Lucky” was a wonderful dog who lived with us for many years, and helped raise a puppy who came to us as well. She was also mostly blind, and had inner ear damage from an old infection. But, she was full of life, and gave us so much joy and love. Give these sweet dogs a home. You will be forever glad you did.
