Goodness gracious! !!!!!!! $500 to grow 10lbs of tomatoes 🍅 my family is on foodstamp program

When you get everything dumped out, spread it into a thinner layer around your tarp and then grab two corners and walk backwards. When you get to that edge drop your corners and pick up the other two corners and just roll all that mixture together. Then you can go back in and break up any chunks there might be left over.

Pricey.

Thank you appreciate the information and will begin on the learning. I will get there one day.

Very informative. Thank you

I love this mix! ❤ I have 4x8x1 metal planter boxes. When I first set them up, I do the hugelkultur bit, small branches, leaves n such for like the bottom third of the box. The next third is a mix of cheap top soil and compost. The top third is this mix. Veggies n herbs just explode with growth! Now every year I make this mix to top off my boxes. It fills them back up from settling and amends what is already in there. I have not even had to really fertilize otherwise, but I do rotate my plantings lol.

Picked up your comment that “Bumble Bee Junction” gave you the recipe for this soil mixture. Great family ❗️🥰
-
Good stuff! That mixing process is hard work, but worth it at harvest time. :)
-
Looks like a pretty comprehensive recipe! Thanks and stay safe out there this season!
-
Thanks for sharing. I will give this a try in the spring. Would this mixture work for 5 gallon buckets?
-
How many tanks does that mix fill, using the 2x4x2 in your video?
-
Are you using just regular old in ground garden soil? Like that in the miracle gro bags.that say in ground use only? I don't want to choke my roots. I'm familiar with all the other ones. Also, couldn't some azomite be helpful?
-
If this was mixed up during winter time how can I keep it good till spring?
-
Thanks for this video Lance, I just purchased 4 2’x4’x2’ stock tanks and will need to set up per your video on the self- watering raised bed… Question: with the volume of the soil mix you’ve put together in this video, how many of the stock tanks are you able to fill? I need to plan to purchase my materials for the 4 stock tanks and was wondering about how many tanks the volume you’ve mixed up will be filled up… Keith

Do you water this down real good before putting it in your raised bed?
-
Was this meant to be organic ? Because if so , the perlite from Miracle Grow has there synthetic high nitrogen fertilizer in it ..... which is whatever , but for me personally it's a no go ...... just making people aware of this fact ..... Pumice and or rice hulls are a good substitute.
-
Wow! That is a lot of product. But my question is, how often do you fertilize throughout the growing season, or is there any reason for more fertilizer. Thank you in advance for your kind reply.
-
Wonderful video. Do you not add potting soil?
-
I’m from the UK so might be misunderstanding something due to different names but an awful lot of American channels seem to us peat moss. Is this also harvested from peat bogs?
-
Okay. Confirmed. This stuff is amazing -- especially for squash. Put a squash plant in this soil using a self-wicking tub and you'll be truly amazed. Never seen more healthy plants. The nutrient uptake is perfect. Don't forget the borax. ALSO -- important for tomato growers here -- IF you use 3 whole pounds of blood meal, you'll get huge plants -- but you won't get much fruit. More like 2 pounds of blood meal--and add some minerals using kelp meal and and/or azomite. Can't beat this stuff. I've tried.
