I would give Fairy to Florges, it's the embodiment of the most classic Fairy concept: A graceful femenine creature that has a close relationship with nature.

I think the mascots for each type are: Psychic: Alakazam Normal: Snorlax Bug: Beedrill Water: Blastoise Fire: Charizard Grass: Venusaur Ice: Lapras Electric: Pikachu Dark: Umbreon Rock: Gigalith Flying: Pidgeot Steel: Magnemite Fairy: Sylveon Dragon: Garchomp (Cynthia, enough said) But I agree with you on the rest
  • I think rock would go for geodude even more that you think as some pokedex entries say about it disguising itself as a regular rock

True list Fighting: Pinsir Psychic: Psyduck Ghost: Darkrai Water: Lugia Elektric: Porygon Rock: Conkeldurr Poison: Tangela Grass: Florges Fire: Koraidon Flying: Flygon Ground: Garbodor Dragon: Gyarados Ice: Oshawott Bug: Gliscor Steel: Electrode Dark: Arbok Fairy: Celebi Normal: Mankey

Zeraora was right there for electric.

If I was to think of Pokemon to rep Ice, Delibird won't be high on the list (Avalugg is what I'd go with). The rest are fine. Muk is as Poison as it gets because it's literally a giant glob of poisonous shit (your choice isn't bad though).
  • The one he chose for the dark type name means dark dark. I’m not joking.
  • @jays447
I probably would've given the Poison mascot to Muk. It's literally made out of poison & toxicity.
  • I think the psychic mascot should be Alakazam. Psychic is meant to suggest a being with a strong mind, and intelligent background. Plus it’s the only typing besides fighting that was originally for human like Pokémon. Alakazam qualifies for all 3 of these, having a focused expression when fighting, an IQ of 5000, and belonging to the human-like egg group. Plus he holds spoons to demonstrate the most common object used in TV shows by people with psychic powers. Lastly his mega evolution(does it even need an explanation, it’s the most accurate mega form for psychic types).

My own list after much deliberation, excluding Pikachu, Eevee and the Eevolutions, starters, and legendaries, as they're mascots in themselves of both the franchise as a whole and their respective generations. Most are going to be from gens 1-4 since seniority makes them more recognizable and as such more qualified for mascot status, and also typically will go cuter because that makes for better plushies (given mascots would have plushies made of them so best find something that's easy to make merch out of) unless the type is begging for something otherwise: Normal: Munchlax (small, cute, just a little monster who loves food, nothing much about him past that so he's pretty darn normal, and easily plushiable) Grass: Bellossom (decently common given Oddish being in most regional dexes, 100% plant, loves the sun and speaking of is all about weather and status effects) Fire: Rapidash (fast, hard-hitting, exposed flames, and also in most gens, and bonus points for being so reliable when you needed a Fire type in Sinnoh that wasn't Chimchar) Water: Milotic (elegant, tanky, very much a fish, and for bonus points is from the region notorious for having copious amounts of water) Bug: Wurmple (common in most regions and both is a textbook early-game bug and has that really cool split evolution to help it stand out from the others) Flying: Did a lot of thinking on this one and eventually landed on Zubat (was going to go with Hoothoot since it was from my deduction the most common of the Route 1 birds in terms of regional dexes (kinda neck and neck with Pidgey though so give or take), but then I realized that the most recognizable of all Flying types was right in front of me: Zubat. It is everywhere and in spite of it, it is known for being pretty darn strong and needs love to reach its full potential so it has an inspiring story to go along with it) Electric: Ampharos (mostly because of the whole lighthouse quest in Gen 2, but that highlights exactly why I'd pick it: it's all about emanating light and electricity ...I'd pick something faster but I'm surprised at how so many Electric types are actually on the slower side... Honorable mention to Rotom though given its increasing prevalence in the lore) Poison: Weezing (bulky, kinda intimidating, and you take one look at it and you go "oh yeah, that thing is *poison*") Rock: Agreed. Geodude. Ground: Hippowdon (it IS sand, it IS earth, it is a force of nature that carries sandstorms with it wherever it goes, everything about it IS Ground) Fighting: Agreed, Machamp Ice: Alolan Vulpix (the only pokemon here past Gen 4! Ironic given its original Fire typing, and I was contemplating others as well, namely Snorunt and Spheal, but it's so cute and it's so fluffy and snowy and also gets Snow Warning so it's the perfect little snowball) Psychic: Alakazam (the big guy of Psychic types back then and still kinda is now) Dragon: Dragonair (it's so elegant and mystical and super rare and reminiscent of a classic Eastern dragon, and while I could've just gone Dragonite as the final stage, I dunno, Dragonair fits the mysterious and elusive vibes better in my opinion, and also I need to not allow my bias towards Salamence overtake reason) Steel: Aggron (Steelix was a close contender but between the armor, the mega, and the concept of an armored dinosaur, everything about Aggron is, literally and metaphorically, metal) Ghost: Agreed again, Gengar (in fact it basically IS marketed as the quintessential Ghost type by The Pokemon Company themselves) Dark: Sneasel (probably due to the fact it's both one of the first Dark types and also a perfect balance of looking plushieable and like it'd claw your face just for fun, plus it's the signature pokemon of the ever-edgy Silver (which is kinda messed up when you think about it given he straight-up ferretnapped that Sneasel (and unlike the starter, wasn't too little to realize what was happening and just imprint on him and even had a doting trainer that it no doubt remembers beforehand) and forced it to fight for him and we know that he treats his pokemon terribly pre-Lance Hyper Beaming some common decency into him) Fairy: Clefairy (all in the name! Plus like this is a bit of a cheat but it was meant to be the original mascot of Pokemon before Pikachu was cast over it so it's definitely gotta be the mascot of something to make up for that) Now excuse me while I use Skill Swap on a Heatproof Bronzor in hopes it can help me endure the incoming roasts.

I don't see why gamefreak didnt give tsuros rock head. He is fkin bull , all he does is charge at you. He shouldn't be taking recoil
  • My rules for this list are 1. No legendary or mystical Pokemon. 2. They have to be a PURE version of that element. Normal: Chansey As a Pokemon that works as a nurse, it provides a valuable service and therefore deserves recognition. Fire: Rapidash Charizard is a fire/FLYING type and therefore disqualified. Rapidash is a horse with a mane made of fire what more can you ask for? Fighting: Machamp When your right your right. Also, Machamp is a very popular Pokemon which is a deciding factor. Water: Wailord The biggest Pokemon, yeah you nailed it. Flying: Altaria I was going to go with Skarmary because it is cool and looks like a plane but you're right Altaria has the better aesthetic. Since there are only three pure flying types I am excluding this one from the "only pure element" rule. Grass: Sceptile Torterra is Grass/Ground and therefore disqualified. Sceptile was my main Pokemon while playing Ruby, so I am somewhat biased in this. Poison: Muk It is literally a pile of toxic chemicals. Electric: Electabuzz Pikachu was a tempting choice because, well it's Pikachu. Ironically that is the very reason it doesn't work. Pikachu is already the face of the franchise, the electric mascot should be a character in itself. Ground: Diglett For all the reasons you mentioned. Psychic: Alakazam It is one of the most powerful and iconic of psychic types. Rock: Nosepass Geodude is a rock/ground type. Nosepass is just a rock with a face. Ice: Glaceon Brings to mind the grace and coolness of an arctic breeze. Bug: Caterpie This was the first Pokemon that Ash caught and the first one that many trainers caught in the games. This Pokemon has got some serious history. Dragon: Druddigon Well, it looks like a dragon (a European dragon to be specific). Also, it is a pure dragon type. Ghost: Duskull Gengar is a ghost/poison type, sorry for all of the fans but this one ain't for it. Duskull grim reaper appearance makes it an ideal mascot. Dark: Zororak This Pokemon just screams "edgelord". Steel: Copperajah This one hurt because all of my favourite steel types are duel types. So I had to go with that one. Fairy: Togipi This Pokemon came out when new Pokemon were something to get excited about.
