  • The American cut that exists on Netflix had an unhinged Dennis Quad pitching these sketches as movies while holding a producer at gunpoint

“Machines: They’re full of kids.” Isn’t that the plot of Five Nights at Freddy’s?

After watching this video again I love how Doug NEVER, not even once mentions the jokes being in bad taste or going too far. He points out the flaws in the writing, especially how each sketch is based on one single joke, but he's accepting the premise of the joke without batting an eye. He doesn't say anything about the iBabe sketch being potentially sexist, he doesn't say anything about the basketball sketch being potentially racially insensitive, when Anna Feris says "will you poop on me?" He doesn't say "what? Ew! Why would anybody want to see a movie about that! It's not funny!" no, he says "This is the joke, right? It's all gonna be poop related?" I feel like by not even acknowledging the shock humor he goes one step further, he doesn't even give the creators the opportunity to say "see? He doesn't get it! We got him! He's disgusted and that's the point, that's the punchline!" No he embraces the joke, but explains why it's badly written.

That Emma Stone and Kieran Culkin part sounded like something from Bad Lip Reading.

"Machines..they're full of kids." I was not prepared for how funny that was..damn. Edit: 10 months and 400 likes (goddamn) later I read this again and it still gets me.
  • Honestly I can't get over the fact that both Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet were also in Flushed Away together
  • The version I watched on Netflix had Dennis Quaid trying to pitch movies at gun point and that was how all of the sketches were connected.
  • The weird thing is, this movie came out at a time when lots of other star-studded movies that seemed to focus more on big named actors and actresses than actual movie material so, a lot of people thought it was going to be good like Valentine's Day or whatever. I honestly couldn't get past the burrito scene and was so shocked by the visuals that it didn't even register that big stars like Chris Pratt and Anna Ferris were even in that scene. It really says something when the 'humor' of a scene is so utterly disturbing and distracting that you remember the disgust you felt and completely forget the faces of the actors you saw in that scene. I could honestly remember that movie with any other actor or actress and it would still be the same effect.
  • Remind me to tell you an inside story about voiceover I did for this movie.
  • "Austin Michael Jackson Powers" The most accurate and funniest description I've heard in a while 😂
  • Movie 43 “won” 3 Razzies in 2014: Worst Picture, Director and Screenplay. And was nominated for 3 more: Worst Screen Combo for every single Hollywood actor (lost against Will and Jaden Smith for After Earth) and singling out Naomi Watts (also for Diana) and Halle Berry (also for The Call) for Worst Actress (they both lost against Tyler Perry for A Madea Christmas)

Ok the "I'll see you in church" was perfect. Emma stone is awesome
  • my genuine reaction to seeing the thumbnail was "oh geez, no!"
  • The answer to life, the universe and everything is 42. By happenstance, adding one to that makes the antithesis to that.
  • OK, not gonna lie, the store sketch was hilarious. Just the way they act really good, put their hearts into it, is so funny to me
