They can't all be beautiful hikes in warm sunny weather. Join me on this challenging camp in the English Lake District. This ended up being some of the toughest weather I have had to contend with while hiking and camping in quite some time. The rains and winds were relentless but adjustments were made as the hike went on to find a safe place to hunker down in the tent for the night. If I had known the conditions were going to be this rough I probably would have postponed my trip. The last thing I want to do is glorify camping in potentially dangerous weather. Sometimes it’s best to just remember that these beautiful landscapes are not going anywhere and they will still be here if you just wait and camp on a different day. This is a lesson I still need to learn. I am definitely guilty of being a bit impatient when waiting for a dry day, as they don't always align with when I have the opportunity to camp. But if you do choose to camp in these conditions, bringing the right equipment is essential and being flexible with your plans is very important. Hope you enjoy the video.

This guy’s positive attitude in the face of these conditions is remarkable!

When this guy says he's going to make some dinner I assumed he was going to pull out a freeze-dried ration and boil some water on his gas cylinder stove. You know, quick and easy. But no, he starts chopping fresh veggies and browning 1/2 pound of beef. But that's not all, he whacks out a Trangia alcohol burner in those gale-force winds, and then proceeds to lit it with a match, just to make himself a proper meal. That's my new definition of dedication. Never again will I complain about my camp food.

I don’t know why is so engaging to see someone facing the elements and, in this case, with so much grace. Thanks again for all your videos!!

Nice to see someone enjoying a typical English summer camping trip with such alacrity. Good man.

Since I was little, I always loved the thought of being in a tent with friends, while a storm raged outside. Weird, I know.

Your positive attitude throughout this video is truly inspiring......when im out in those conditions, ill forever think of you in this vid, and it'll make me smile, and stop me moaning.😊
  • This was probably one of the best videos of camping with rain I saw so far, because is REAL and with the original sound of the places. I get frustrated some times of fake titles with fake rain. Thank you for the video from Argentina !! 🇦🇷💙

  • Hi, from Montréal, we went camping in nova scotia one time it was so windy and non stop,it was giving me a real headache To the point that we packed up,and looked for another place. But nothing To compare with what this video shows. We were To families (9) people and we enjoyed camping for years. Thanks for your video, it helps me cope with these sad times, my wife Louise just passed away. Take care signed Jim

Just a tip: If a strong wind gust had blown the tent out of your hands at 15:45 and you had to search for it for hours or even lost it, you would have been in serious trouble. You can attach the tent to your rucksack with a carabiner the moment you take it out of the bag to prevent this. I often use the Nammatj GT with sled dogs, and then you are not only responsible for yourself. I've gotten used to putting up tents like this, especially in the mountains. Cheers from Switzerland

school boy error not having a change of clothing in a drybag, but fair play for toughening it out ,the food looked amazing 👌
