Willie needs to be immortal. Can somebody give him that potion to live forever? I mean, when Willie passes away, the world is going to suck a whole lot worse. Willie makes the world a better place.

My mom once kissed Willie Nelson on the cheek after a show at the Concord Hotel back in the day in NY. She really loved that moment. Mom died on November 4th just a couple days ago. I was playing her this collection from Willie and others on YouTube for James Taylor and Carly Simon in the hospital those last hours. I hope it gave her comfort. I hope she felt my love and presence those last hours. I hope she's out there somewhere and knows that I'll hold her in my heart forever. I miss you mom. Willie's music has been a strong influence in my life. Even when I wasn't a country fan, I always liked his voice and how he portrayed the stories in the songs. Hello walls got me through some very tough times in the last few years, I often found myself singing it to myself. Only nowhere near as good as Willie! I wish that I had an opportunity to see you in concert!

Saw Willie and a cover band at Renfro Valley, south of Berae Kentucky, in 1991. Outdoor concert, I was security, backstage, Willie came around camper, blended into the boys fired up a dubbey! We knew who he was, amazing time !

I remember traveling thru eastern Oregon, camping and fishing....bird hunting and enjoying the lonely roads. I had a handful of cassette tapes and Willie Nelson was on the cover of most of them. I went to the end of the road, Hells Canyon dam and chartered a jet boat to take me downstream. HCA, cost me $40 round trip. They sent me ashore at a place called Battle Creek and I fished and hiked and explored that magical landscape for ten days before they made me ship out. I was never alone. The black bear, deer and elk made their presence known. Besides the animals that landscape kept record of the native peoples and pioneers who tried and failed to work that land, to tame it. I must admit that ground was as haunted as it was free. I listened to Willie in the evening time while I caught catfish or trout or bass until the batteries died. Yet even with my little cassette player packed away I could hear the voice of singers I couldn't name. I could feel the drum beats from the start of time until the stars would light up the sky like the second half of day. I didn't know at the time that would become one of my favorite memories of my life. Id like to see that place again as I know I'll still recognize all those special views I committed to memory.

He's an amazing man and human. It makes me sad he's currently having trouble day to day breathing. There's times when people come into our world with such talents and compassion to share with the world they're often copied throughout their careers and life but once it's their time to go we're left searching for something similar and there's never anything close. Just in case thank you Willie for everything.
