I don't get the hate for Oscar, tbh. As a fighter he always fought the best, even after he left his prime. As a promoter, he's willing to risk his cash cow against anybody. You have to respect the guts on the guy. Never afraid to speak his mind

The shade is real towards Mayweather in this segment.
  • De la Hoya is dope as a promoter! Making boxing badass again by not giving a fuck about a win or loss just tryna put badass against badass.
  • @dapperdonmilli
the truth is Oscar didn't really want this fight but Canelo force his hand....
  • @W3STSID303
once in a million years 2 of the best boxers fight eachother
  • @Umer-
2:32 sums up mayweathers career in one sentence
  • @GreenEnvy.
To everyone talking shit about the Mayweather/Mcgregor fight. That fight went 10 rounds. Sit your asses down.

This fights gonna suck ass. Neither guy is gonna come out and fight stupid. Both guys are gonna be very careful to not fall into a trap. Triple G will come out with a hard jab knowing Canelo will be looking to counter. with Canelo he's not gonna stand and trade he's a natural counter puncher he's gonna pick his spots when to throw counters. Idk why people think this is gonna be some fucken death match with both guys bashing each other's faces in. It's A good technical fight

I'm not a boxing fan, but I saw one of Canelo's fights recently and it was awesome.

Max is a company man, always has been, always will be. This is about marketing the fight for HBO. Max knows that both Oscar and Sugar Shane ducked Mayweather. He was willing to move from 135 to 147 for either or and they ducked him for years. Cotto also ducked Floyd (or Top Rank did) when Cotto was at 140 and smashing people. So there is no "Floyd waited til they were old". Let's get a little bit deeper. Floyd fought and defeated an unbeaten Ricky Hatton, fought Marquez when he was #2 or 3 pound for pound (he was coming up 2 weight classes himself so I won't argue that), El Chino x2 after he waxed AB and gave all kinds of big names hell, Victor Ortiz after he upset Berto, who was supposed to be the one to fight Floyd but he messed that up, and Canelo. Let's go back farther when he was the Golovkin of his generation. Unlike Golovkin (in some instances his fault, in other instances not his fault), Floyd was being avoided but still landing big fights against big time fighters such as: Jose Luis Castillo x2, Diego Corrales (#3 p4p & undefeated), Genaro Hernandez (maybe past his prime but was still a veteran champion, first title shot), Philip Ndou, Zab Judah. When Floyd was at 130, he called out an unbeaten and still undefeated Prince Naseem for a fight at a catch weight of 128 and Larry Merchant cut him off and said "HE'S NOT GOING TO FIGHT YOU AFTER THAT PERFORMANCE!" See how HBO works? Everyone I mentioned sans Hernandez was an in prime dangerous fighter. ESPN and HBO are very irresponsible with these kinds of statements, but you can't change history to fit your narrative, even though some of you fools will believe anything spoon fed to you. Max knows better, but the company man needs to stay in line with ESPN and HBO, to push this narrative to sell this fight. I'll buy it because it's the most important fight in years in one of the darling weight divisions, but don't take everything jealous ducking ass Oscar and the world's greatest employee Max Kellerman as gospel.

Message to all boxers: "you might lose the battle, don't lose the war" meaning if you lose make sure you avenge your loss. That's what will make you great in my book.
  • @gottgaame
theres no doubt if mayweather fought de la hoya right after that zab judah fight he would have lost. the point is de la hoya took the risks, but no one was ever like tyson when it comes to taking fights, if you called tyson out he was gonna fight you
  • @samslick9000
