How Much Gold in 12 Hours of Wisconsin Mining?

Published 2024-07-27
This was a challenge to see how much gold I could find in 12 hours of mining in Wisconsin. prospecting and walking was included in the time. we had a good day!
There is a debate about the origin of this gold. Some say it was brought by a Meteorite. and others say it is glacial gold. Im in the glacial gold camp.

  • Heres what i got....... 40-42 , 5 gallon buckets equal 1 yard, 200 shovels equal 1,square yard. Gold is a yardage game, and yes how much gold is in the ground does matter also. Great job great channel. 👍 heavy pans my friend

You're a natural at filming stuff like this. Not a gold guy, just an appreciator of good videos!

As a prospector of 8 years who has found over 12 ounces of gold, the best advice I can give any new prospector is to test, test, test. The more you know the area you are working the better results you will have. It is common for me to test pan for 2-3 days before I find an area I deem worth working.
  • Wow man, Great video, your channel is growing crazy fast! 21:52 you know what they say, "Never leave gold to find gold." Heavy pans!!

I was going to say the leeches are great for fishing. My dad took me panning a few times always wanted to try again. Not only men watching...

I randomly found your channel and I'm so glad, I grew up playing in brooks like these, and you're showcasing a whole new reason to appreciate these places that I never knew! Thank you for helping spark a new hobby, much love, happy prospecting!

  • I love your energy and enthusiasm. You’re actually quite knowledgeable and have good communication skills. Keep up the good work
  • Yello from Wisconsin ❤ nice video. It was from the heat and pressure from the impact and with nugget lake having 3 glacial events that came through the area
  • great Video of one of my favorite spots in WIS. I get there about 2 times a month... and yes there are great little spots... I have had 30+ speck pans... but they are usually very small specks and in very small spots... but dig deeper too... glad to see you promote filling in your holes... yep... hip boots are a must... and yes... you'll fill that vial eventually... just gotta keep going!!!! good luck and heavy pans!!!!
  • Very well made video. I was there many years ago when I was first learning to pan. New subscriber!
  • Cool hobby! Thanks for all those private lessons years ago. I hope your well.

I've watched many prospector videos from guys with names most would recognize where they collect a gram or 2 in 8 hours or snipe some good sized nuggets I found your video much more entertaining even knowing your final weight was going to be very small because like yiu said you got out there and enjoyed every second of it and a few colors in a pan was enough to get you excited . I believe you will fill that vile I hope yiu live long 3nough to do a second

Very nice! ThanX! I totally recognize that bridge and location. Maybe do a vid on the river flowing through the state camp grounds near Neilsville. I'll admit I didn't have much luck there but it's a bigger, more flowing, cleaner, larger river. It is popular. It would be cool to see what you can prospect/discover there. Very foolish that someone ID'd this place. Except for filling the holes you mentioned, THAT'S the way to ruin nice spots.
  • You said it all well said thanks for the video God bless you and your family amen

We got out two days last week and found a pretty good spot. The bugs weren't even that bad! My understanding is that the meteorite didn't deliver the gold, but blasted the crust which left a fair amount on the surface. Visually, to me, the gold looks different than the glacial micro gold dust. I bet a microscope would shed some light on the source and travel distance of the gold.
  • I was just there about a month ago. Found some gold. Some spots are better than others. I do plan on going back to do a lot more. I wish the gold was better since I live near Chicago. Not to many places have gold out here.
