The Shady Side of Tyler Perry

Has your opinion of Tyler Perry changed after watching this video?

He writes all his shows and movies? That explains a lot. All along I just assumed his writers were sabotaging him.

Big ego or not, God has a way of humbling his most difficult creations.

I never could finish even one of his movies, TV shows and I'm sure not going to one of his plays. nothing but negative stereotypes.

Ok so apparently his shows, movies, plays, etc. reinforces black stereotypes but has anyone spent a second on BET...that whole network perpetuates black stereotypes tenfold and tells us what it means to “be black.” As if being black is only carried out through certain behaviors, ideas, and mannerisms therefore creating limitations to who black people are and have the potential to be. Furthermore, lumping our individuality into a small box. It’s great we have our own network but FUCK if you’re talking about stereotypes in the entertainment industry please talk about that first.

But why. This how I end up just looking up to myself.

I don’t know, his face shows “gay” or “cross dresser with a bi life”.

Being a celebrity have so many down sides, your damn if you do, and your damn if you don't.

He makes enough money to pay these ppl. PERIOD!!!!

I don't understand that if he were once broke and sleeping in his car some nights, how he can justify not wanting to give ANYBODY the pay they deserve...he is forever being outed for being cheap and unfair to his employees....

The criticism about "Temptation" wasn't a fair one. Just because the main character contracted HIV does not mean he is saying all cheaters deserve HIV. That's a really far stretch.

The term "African American" is incorrect in most instances when referring to American citizens WITH African ancestry. Born in the US? Your an American citizen no matter what color of skin you have. Truth is truth no matter how one chooses to see it.

I like Tyler Perry and I am so proud of his accomplishments. Anytime you reach the level of success that he’s reached, you develop a lot of enemies. Perry is witty, wise, good hearted and blessed. Leave him alone

I don’t think his shows or movies make black people look bad. Love and hip hop makes black people look bad. I can relate to a lot of Tyler’s plays and shows. I have learned many things from his plays and shows. So I’m not seeing where it makes people look bad. I have aunts and uncles that act like some of the older characters in his shows. I have seen a lot of the drama that does be in his shows in my own family. We ain’t perfect we have our kinks, but like in his plays, we learn how to come together and overcome our problems as a family.

He used the church community to build his fame with all those plays in the Lord's name

Temptation was based off of the famous book. If y’all gone criticize the man about his work y’all could at least do y’all research

If you have nothing then your nobody and when you have a lot someone Is always gonna hind fault in you so I say take care of you and yours and be happy #!!!!!!!

So the whole "Temptation" HIV thing was a waste.  No bearing on the "Shady Side" of Tyler Perry.
