Even the real Stephen King liked this video. That's a great achievement.
-
Stephen got some nerves saying Poe’s got an opiate addiction when he doesn’t even remember writing Cujo lmao
-
Nearly a decade later and “Poe’s poems pwn posers” is still one of the hardest lines ever.
-
Not-Fun Fact: Poe watched every friend/lover/parent/sibling he had die coughing up blood. It happened consistently throughout his entire life. The only exception to this was a childhood friend and sweetheart who shared his love of the macabre. She loved him, but was forced to marry someone else. Then decades later they reunited and got engaged, only for Poe to unexpectedly die directly before the wedding.
-
The rap starts with “Once upon a midnight dreary,” and ends with “Nevermore.” GENIUS!
-
I love how Poe punctuates his bars with random cries of anguish.
-
"You're a faux Bram Stoker, so scram, the show's over" is a criminally underrated bar. Calling King a fake ripoff Stoker actually cuts really deep considering that it's a criticism that King has faced for many years and that he himself admits gets under his skin.
-
If I had a nickel for every time George Watsky portrayed a famous English writer whose first couple lines imitated their writing in some manner, with a second verse where he rapped much faster, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
-
"Come on Stephen King, you won, let's celebrate your victory in my wine cellar..."
-
"See I'm the author with the blood and gore lore galore that'll horrify a reader to the core" is such a dope flow
-
Poe's second verse was just perfect
-
King is more prolific today, but considering the time, Poe paved the way for horror writing. And his life was a tragedy that you can't make up. Poe wrote out of need, not desire necessarily
-
“Poe’s poems pwn posers” holy shit
-
Best enunciation: Edgar Best rap: Stephen
-
I love the flow change at 1:32. “Speaking of bored, you’re the worst, dropped out of school but you can’t drop a verse”. The beat and horn is amazing
-
Here just to say that "Poe's Poems Pwn Posers" is still the best line I've ever heard and surely my favourite by ERB's. From the allitteration in P (that hits like four punches in the stomach), to the meaning of the verse, since Poe was the master of horror, thriller, gothic and any similar literary genre. I'm a King lover, but there would never be any King without Poe.

Best Flow: Edgar Allan Poe Best Disses: Stephen King Winner: The English Language
-
“I’m a workaholic with a fiction addictions” That’s not your only addiction, mr king
-
I always appreciate how much content they can jam into a short sketch. This was only 2 minutes but was good.

One of the best ERBs ever. Zach and Watsky are insanely talented, and having both in the same video is just a treat. It's mind boggling for me that these guys are not like big mainstream success while we know what kind of people get to that level. Just sad.
