I know free-roaming outdoor cats are a major point of contention, especially in the UK, so I really do applaud the effort you've put in to make sure your cats can enjoy fresh air safely. I really wish more people would treat their cats like family members the way you do, and keep their safety and happiness both in mind as opposed to letting them run off and do damage to themselves and the environment. The catio looks awesome and I'm sure Ralph will grow to love it as much as Bella already does!

I love this. My cats have a screened in porch which they love, but it isn't as innovative as this catio. I noticed Bella is back in her doughnut, I hope she is ok and that Ralph is feeling better soon.

Nice cateo! I'd recommend you add some surfacing material to the wood platforms to provide grip. Same for the ramps... way more useful than those plastic climbing handholds that animals will avoid walking on. I'd suggest using something somewhat thick-ish so the cats can sink their claws in if necessary... so outdoor carpeting, synthetic turf, perhaps even cork or rubber (though rubber might get hot). This would be especially important for the high up sleeping platform. Say if the cat rolls off the edge or takes a misstep in the wet. They'll be able to sink their claws into the platform to avoid falling. I'd also recommend adding a small 2-inch lip to the upper sleeping shelf. It'll just provide an additional level of security while sleeping... like if rollover or stretch/spread-out while half asleep.
