Before the Leafs do anything, they need to sort out the Marner/ Tavares mess?...are they going to accomodate the Leafs and which teams would they be willing to go to?..that should be 1st order of business, and 2nd should be which of the Leaf UFA's do they want back, and which can leave. We all love to speculate on trade's and UFA signings, but freeing up cap space first is essential in a hard cap world.

Would be solid pick up and would give the leafs a solid versatile Defenseman that can play both sides of the Blue line and play two way hockey and can play with gritty and heart and drive to win like domi and bertuzzi and McCabe. That why the leafs eyeing D Mario Ferraro and Brad Treliveing from rumors has been trying to aquire D Mario ferraro since he was with the flames as GM and Brad Treliveing like Mario Ferraro the way he plays hockey Ferraro fits the bill of what leafs and Treliveing is looking for on the Blue line.

I know it's easier said than done but the guys who can't score in the playoffs trade them now, focus on these guys first. Hey I wonder if next year's year-end chat with the media will Pellie and Shanahan play the "I'm responsible for our failures" card? They can't keep doing this, next time a resignation is in order. If Leafs find any team willing to take Marners contract I'd be extremely surprised. He has a say were he goes to boot. So if ya think he will be slushed off to a low cap not competitive team he will just say no.

I have zero faith in this front office and even less in treliving. He was the gm in Arizona, that did nothing in the drafts. He was gm in Calgary after shelling out big bucks ro pry Markstrom from Vancouver. Then he imploded the flames, or nobody wanted to be there under his guidance. He dismantled the flames and no longer a playoff team. I have zero faith in him and zero trust. He had 22mil and his only good signing was Domi. Klinberg went down with season ending injury NEVER replaced him. Keefe did amazing considering other then Rielly, the have no top 4 D. Thats not on the coach. Thats all front office. The new coach, mark my words will not obtain 46 wins. Shanahan and treliving will squander the mathews, nylqnder prime years....just watch
