I knew a store manager. He told me that there was no way to request used games from the warehouse. They would get shipped an assortment of used games to keep on hand. However, many of those games were bulk with little to no value. His store closed down in May 2020. A profitable sector in their business, and stock piles of trash no one wanted. The reason is because people can sell into the secondary market much easier today, than back in the 1980s.

I was an SL for GameStop 20 years ago. Back then business was very good. The company had no ethics even then.

Bro my GameStop right next to my work is gone and I can see it. I went in last night and the only thing they could sell me was digital downloads for a few switch games. I pulled 4 games for a few consoles off for cheap on there display, and they didn’t have one! Not one. How do you have games in your name and not have a single video game! One of them came out barely over a month ago too, and not a single copy on Xbox series, PS5 or switch.

Got on last year as a part time holiday gig basically for the discount. They “kept me on” with a promotion. Then no one would answer phones or questions about shifts. I didn’t care but I thought the lack of communication was unprofessional. After watching this vid I went to check job listing for GameStop in my area. In the last week they have all been taken down 😂 I loved the old GameStop. I enjoyed the employees and gaming culture. But the company is definitely poorly managed.

I can't even remember the last time I stepped foot in a Gamestop, it's gotta be almost a decade so it's not suprising they are finally going out of business.

How long before GameStop turns into a drop ship partner with Walmart or Amazon? They could invest in an accessory/game vending machine to replace stores and pop-up stores for big releases with pre-orders. Operate the popups like food trucks or fireworks stands.

When I worked for GS we found out 2 days before it happened the shoe carnival in the same lot knew for four months before us. (They would ask us if it was true almost daily)

I walked into a GameStop yesterday. They were only three people in there.

I worked back in the old days lol. We had 25 percent off and treated us pretty well. District manager was a twat. Manager was a dork living off his rich wife but he left for game crazy so I took over. Then moved on to kinkos for better pay and hours. Things went hella down hill fast when I left and the discount quickly vanished.

GameStop is always going bankrupt, but they somehow manage to come back each time and avoid bankruptcy.
