A very early demo version of Shadow of the Colossus was recently uncovered. This demo was given to E3 2005. Special thanks to Hidden Palace for giving this version of the game to the data-miners! People have been digging into the code to see if they could find anything interesting. Turns out... there's a lot in this demo that we didn't know about before.

It’s actually crazy how old this game is and how people are still discovering secrets and piecing all of the story together

"New secrets found in SoTC" Me: "Yeah yeah. I've already seen everyth-"

The game that never stops giving, forever relevant and a legend in digital archeology

the day we find a build with the unused colossi, is the day we strike diamond.

I like the idea of Malus falling over, but I can see why they removed it. If they had more time I bet they could have made it look really cool.

Last time I was this early, The Last Guardian was still in development.

Ah yes, the year 2021, where gamers are doing virtual archeology on an old demo file, truly the only timeline I want to be in.

I love how nomad is given his due respect. I grew up playing shadow and watching his vids! Great job max as always!

As of 3/31/21, Ocelot has been removed as project lead due to impersonating a Team Ico member, manipulating and lying to other team members to further his own vision for the project and abuse of power. It's crazy to think about it.

I love how the reactions are like they're archeologists finding some lost structures and artifacts. Theorizing about their possible function or the reason of their removal. Can't believe there's still stuff to be found on this game. I've been on the Nomad Colossus rabbit hole since I was in school, and there's still so much to find. Thanks Max for this amazing look at this build of the game!

this is just one game, imagine the whole lost media iceberg of japanese game industry

Man I love that there are still new things being discovered years and years after the game came out. SOTC as a game is so interesting because of all the mysteries and changes with the various builds. It’s been so fun to watch people like you and Nomad over the years find stuff. I wish I could help with the fan remake of the cut content, but I just don’t know if I have the technical skills needed. I’d love to program the spider. That is the beta colossus I must want to fight. Sirius is looking great!

It's amazing how much this game just keeps on giving 15+ years after its release. I mean, I just recently got the platinum trophy for the remake, and now there's even more SotC to look forward to. Man, how I love this game!

The placement of basaran's weakpoints never actually moved. They just covered them with armour so that they would only be exposed once he had been lured on top of a geyser.

It's crazy to think that we're still discovering more about this game

This proves two things: 1 - Fumito Ueda is awesome 2 - He's a jerk He could tell us about the deleted colossi, after all these years the people still want some answers and he could answer all... he's a jerk.

I remember playing the original demo disc and getting excited for "Wanda and the Colossus" years ago, before many people even knew that the game existed and it blows me away that so much is still being discovered and done with the game. Nothing has really officially been done with this IP other than a remaster and a remake. Only collectibles, increased performance, and better graphics have been added in. No new story, no reinserting of cut colossi, no new areas... nothing. Yet, it still thrives. It's a testament to this game's classic masterpiece status.

I never get tired of more videos about this game, wether they are or aren't about uncovering new things
