The battery drain I had with the five wire stator system is gone. After replacing all of my lights with LED units I found in a bulk package (two for the brake, one for the others) I have dropped my wattage demand down to perhaps 1.5 amps. Also, the upgrade of the stator coil to a larger one provides more power and the voltage remains more constant.

And it runs better. By having a constant drain on the battery with the LEDs, the engine runs smoother and the regulator shows a more constant voltage, with fewer drops. But it's also an old trick Honda knew 45 years ago with their CT bikes, that the light bulbs help stabilize the voltage by creating a predictable draw. It does run smoother and starts on the first try. I no longer feel like I have to worry about turning it off and trying to restart it, the Ant will be ready and willing and able.
